Repentance

Repentance – What Does It Really Require?

Believers in Jesus Christ are called to seek forgiveness for their sins — something that was made freely available by Jesus Christ’s death on the cross. Repentance is an essential act that is covered throughout the New Testament scriptures, with believers embracing Jesus’ sacrifice and making a concerted effort to change their ways. Forgiveness and repentance are fixtures in the New Testament. Yet, the church, the Body of Jesus Christ ignores this important aspect of our Christine walk even though it is the first step in the doctrines of Jesus Christ,  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine (teachings) of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment, Hebrews 6:1-2. When was the last time your pastor preached on repentance?  How many teachings have you heard on this subject?

At its core, repentance is a routine and consistent act that includes not only an admission of wrongdoing, but also a pledge to do better. According to Merriam-Webster, the repentance definition is “to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life.” Since every human sins every day, Christ’s death offers forgiveness to all those who are willing to engage in repentance. The Bible makes this clear again and again.

Sin

First step is to understand how sin works in our lives. We have to acknowledge that sin is a huge issue in our lives. We are oblivious to how much we sin every day. In the world today, right has become wrong and wrong has become right.  Most of us are operating in the gray area between right and wrong and if we don’t repent, we will become slaves to sin, Romans 6:20-22 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

Second step is we must identify the sin.  Sin will bring us into bondage and will compromise our relationship with our Father.  Sin brings us into a gray area of not knowing right from wrong.  Sin will affect our faith.  This is outlined in Hebrews and it shows us the progression of Jesus’s doctrines from repentance to faith.  We need to repent so that we can have faith in God’s truth leading to laying on of hands for healing of our sickness and disease.  Sin will not allow us move onto and experience faith without getting rid of sin through repentance.

Commons Sins in Our Lives That We May Not Comprehend

God tells us not to worry three times in Mathew 6 (verses 25, 31, 34).  We worry about our children, jobs, finances, what people think of us, our health, fear of failure, fear of not dieting and exercising, fear of rejection, traumas, fear of man, fear, fear, and more fear.  So, if we have worry 25 times a day and this is a conservative number, without repentance, then we have a problem.  Multiply 25 times 365 days and we have 9125 un-repented sins.  This is just worry (fear, anxiety, terror, stress).

What about depression, idols, anger, rejection, feeling unloved, abandonment, grudges, taking offense, bitterness, envy, self-accusation, self-hatred, self-bitterness, guilt, unloving of self, shame, self-condemnation, jealousy, slander, gossiping, murmuring/complaining, un-forgiveness, porn, TV porn, adultery, abortions (over 60 million, the sin of our nation and we have their blood on our hands), divorce, addictions (food, shopping, drugs, alcohol TV), pride, driveness to succeed, to name a few?

Is not obeying our government a sin? Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.  Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves Romans 13:1-2. How many of you roll through red lights or stop sign? 95% don’t come to a complete stop.

Which of these sins apply to you? Sin becomes so common in us that it becomes one with us.  It does not allow us to distinguish right from wrong.  Sin hinders our relations ship with God, His Son, and the Helper/Holy Spirit.

Jesus Commands Repentance

Jesus himself made it clear that repentance is key, urging people to turn to God and ask for forgiveness for their sins:

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand- Matthew 4:17.

Like Jesus, John the Baptist also warned that the end was drawing nearer and that it was essential to repent:

In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” 3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’ - Matthew 3:1-3.

Repent, Don’t Hide Sins

The Bible also speaks of the importance of not hiding one’s sins, noting that an admission of wrongdoing can help people find “mercy.”

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy - Proverbs 28:13  I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. - Luke 15:7

Repentance Leads to Wiping Away of Sins

By admitting one’s sins and repenting, it is possible to be spiritually refreshed and rejuvenated.

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, - Acts 3:19

In humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, - 2 Timothy 2:25.  Note: We can’t know the truth (right from wrong) if we don’t repent because sin keeps us in darkness. Sin causes us to compromise God and His Word.

“But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. 23 Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?- Ezekiel 18:21-23 (NIV)

A Failure to Repent Can Be Damaging

According to the Bible, there are consequences to refusing to repent one’s sins.

But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent (no shame or regret) heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, - Romans 2:5

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish - Luke 13:3 Perish from what? Sickness and disease.

God is Faithful and Just

Repentance and, in turn, forgiveness, shows God’s love for us through his willingness to purify us from our poor choices and sins.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 1:9.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land - 2 Chronicles 7:14.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. - John 3:16.

How Do I Truly Repent?

Repentance is an emotional, heartfelt, humbling, and contrite attitude towards God.  Repentance is prayer and unfortunately, we as believers pray very little for repentance or anything else for that matter.  Muslims pray five set times per day to their god.  How many times do we pray to God Almighty? Isn’t our God greater than any earthly gods?

Repentance is a declaration to the heavenlies.  Not only to God, but we are sending a message to the spiritual realm, For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. This is where the real battle is being fought.

When we pray to God for anything, we are making a petition or declaration.  Prayer is spiritual warfare and constant repentance during the day, every day, is key to coming out from under our sinful ways.  We certainly can’t sin at least 25 times throughout the day and do nothing.

Sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sim, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin, sin. Sin = 25

Repentance = ZERO.  Deliverance from sin = ZERO.  Deliverance from sickness and disease = ZERO.

What kingdom is winning this battle? Are you getting the point? If you sin all day long, you must repent all day long.

What I have learned about God and His Word is that His Word is very basic.  It simply requires us to obey and submit to His righteousness. God and His Word is not complicated. Mankind has made God’s Word complicated.  So, I am going to show you an uncomplicated to way to pray for repentance that works, but it requires everyday consistency.

Based on the scriptures, it’s clear that God made a way for salvation and forgiveness. That way is paved with acts of repentance with the Bible repeatedly telling us that we should embrace Jesus’ sacrifice and speak to God about our wrongs. This is as simple as speaking to our Lord God directly and repenting of our sins and asking for God’s help because we can’t do it by our own strength. This shouldn’t be done out of mere fear, but with heartfelt sorrow. God calls us to Him, and repentance is simply the repeated act of answering that call. A repentance declaration.

The three keys are:

ObedienceBut God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. Romans 6:17

Submission to His RighteousnessBut seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you Romans 6:33

DeclarationsOut of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing James 3:10. Declarations are extremely important.  When you repent out loud, it is a declaration to the spirit world.  You are sending the message that you want to change your sinful ways.  Daily declaration, and it requires to be specific, will reverse your sinful ways.  It’s God’s promise.

Prayer of Repentance“Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit Ezekiel 18:30-31.

Prayer: Father, in Jesus name, I come before Your thrown of grace and mercy to confess my sins to You.  I choose to repent so that iniquity will not be my ruin. I know I cannot do this by my own power.  Father, I asked You to forgive my sins and help me repent. I ask You to give me a new heart and a new spirit so that I can be free from sins. I choose to die to sin. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me Galatians 2:20. Amen and Amen.

This is your daily prayer that we have NO choice, but to use throughout the day to overcome sin.  We cannot afford to ignore repentance because time is getting short. Pass this along to leadership and wait for the feedback or lack of.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Amen and many blessings to you all,

Depression

Insights to Depression

Depression, by definition, is the result of a chemical imbalance in the body.  Anytime you have a chemical imbalance in your body, either by adding something from the outside that throws the body chemistry off, or from things being secreted on the inside because of spiritual dynamics, you can have depression.  All depression is the result of a chemical imbalance in the body.

Where does depression come from?  Doctors can’t tell you, so don’t believe what they have to say about depression.  God, in His Word, tells us where depression comes from in Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety (FEAR) in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.  This verse tells me that everyone has some level of depression at one time or another due to fear, since we all have fear.  We took a survey during this teaching and everyone in the group has experienced depression. Most will not admit that they have had bouts of depression for fear of being judged.

You are very chemical in your creation. In fact, if you looked at your body on the inside, you’re nothing more than a bunch of little chemical plants that manufacture various chemicals, hormones, neurotransmitters, glands and organs. They maintain basic homeostasis (balance), the way God designed it. But your enemy knows he can interrupt the secretion of hormones, chemicals and neurotransmitters.

We know how the devil is doing it and what the consequences of it are. It’s no longer a mystery. You don’t need a word of knowledge. It’s obvious. It’s the same in every disease. The devil is also the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. When you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. He’s not very creative. He cannot change because he’s in subjection to creation himself. He, too, is a created being.

When we become one with the Unloving spirit, Rejection, Guilt, Shame, or we become one with the lack of self-esteem, our hypothalamus gland senses trouble. Then the pineal gland responds by stopping the secretion of serotonin. When you have lowered serotonin levels, you don’t feel good about yourself. Why? Not only do you have those thoughts, you have the physiological feeling to go with it that reinforces it. At this point, you’ve been had on all three dimensions, spiritually, psychologically and biologically. The result is a mind/body connection that affects our health.

Do you remember the drug Fen-Phen? They said it was causing heart problems. It was the number one diet drug in America for a long time. Fen-Phen basically was an upper. An upper is an amphetamine. An upper causes serotonin to be released. So, when you don’t feel good about yourself, you eat. When you don’t feel good about yourself, the rate of your metabolism slows down – not everyone since it may be genetic, but many.

For people who have difficulty with weight gain, the rate of metabolism can be determined by your spiritual state. Not just by a genetic component. When you don’t feel good about yourself, your serotonin levels drop. So, Fen-Phen raised the serotonin levels. When your serotonin levels are normal, you feel better about yourself, so you don’t eat.

Food can be an addiction. Addictions work like a pacifier and my position is that all addictions are a result of not feeling loved.  Constantly trying to feel that void of emptiness in the heart. Food, smoking, drugs or drink; anything we take to build up our lack of self-esteem. Obsessive compulsive behavior, OCD, is a serotonin deficiency disease. Manic depression is a genetically inherited serotonin deficiency disease, but it’s genetic.

When the pineal gland causes serotonin to be under secreted, you now have reinforced not just the thought, but the biology as well. You now have both the psychological and the physiological responding to those thoughts. You’re caught in the trap. This is Satan’s nature at work whether it be Fear, Guilt, Bitterness, Self-Rejection, hatred and the list goes on  as you well know.

Be In Health ministers has been able to document almost 500 different personality aberrations (mental disorders) in mankind that frankly, are demonic, all with a specific fruit, long term. This is producing most of our disease and is spiritually rooted. Not all disease has a spiritual root, directly, but a lot of disease does have a spiritual root.

Sometimes it is no longer just a spirit of Fear at work anymore, it may be that you now have a personality of Fear. Have you seen people with phobias? Maybe it was someone who has panic attacks? Those are personalities of Fear and phobias that have been ingrained in the person’s life.

Your mind can be programmed. Your thoughts can control you; not just from the spiritual dimension, but also from the psychological dimension. For every thought you have, there’s part of your life that wants to correspond. Like depression, for example.

Depression, is the result of a chemical imbalance in the body as was discussed at the beginning of this article. Any time you have a chemical imbalance in your body, either by adding something from the outside that throws the body chemistry off, or from things being secreted on the inside because of spiritual dynamics – you can have depression begin.  Depression is the result of a chemical imbalance in the body. A chemical imbalance is the hypo and hyper dynamics of secretion. What causes certain glands to over secrete or under secrete? A spiritual problem that is part of the person’s personality - a part that is not of God. They may have become so one with it, it’s now a way of life for them. They cannot separate themselves from it, so, they become one with it.

Do you see why it is so important for you to learn to separate as Paul shows us in Romans 7? You need to be able to separate yourself and your thoughts from this stuff and choose to line up with the Word of God. The Word says God is love and God loves you. It also says if God be for you who can be against you? We can quote many scriptures about God loving us – that does include you. God loves us even if we’ve still got sin in our lives.

You need to mix the Word with your faith. Take that lie that’s been in your mind and cast it down as a lying imagination. It does not match the knowledge of God. Find out what the Word says and believe it.

The antidote to these lies and the depression is the mind of Christ; the Word of God. You decide what you will believe – the lies of the enemy’s kingdom or the Word of God. Who will you believe? The things you’ve been programmed with or what God says about it? It’s time for you to come out of agreement with the devil. Come out of agreement with the lies! The devil is a liar. He was a liar from the beginning and is the father of all lies. If he can get you to believe a lie, your body will conform to that image. Your soul will conform to that image. Your spirit man will conform to that image. That’s why in Hebrews 4:12 it says the Word of God is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The Word is able to separate the soul from the spirit. Verse 13 says neither is there any creature that is not made manifest before Him.

So, if I could tell you that you had depression because of an Unloving, unclean spirit of Rejection, would that be significant to you? If I could tell you that you had a certain mental torment because of Fear and Anxiety, would that be significant to you? If I could give you the etiology (the cause) of your problem spiritually, would that be significant to you?

It would be the only thing that would make any sense, because otherwise you’re lost in the mess of your own thoughts, emotions and feelings - with no way out. When you’re lost in the ignorance of the moment, your enemy is controlling your physiology and your soul. Then you are a victim and you are in a prison house with no way out. Unless, you choose the truth of God’s Word and the insight of discernment. That’s why the Word of God is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. It is that level of knowledge and discernment that the church needs today. Not only to heal disease, but to prevent it. That is our mission for you and for the body of Christ.

Depression and Sugar Substitutes

The body will pitch a fit when you try to quit diet drinks, but don’t be too concerned about the withdrawal. Diet drinks are phenalphenalics. Phenalphenalics produce low grade depression. That would include aspartame and Sweet and Low. Anyone that consumes diet drinks on a regular basis is susceptible to an ongoing low-grade depression. A safer alternative is Stevia but, it used to be more difficult to use, difficult to buy and difficult to dissolve.  When someone comes to me and says, “I’m not really depressed I’m just not on top of my game” the first thing I ask them is, “Are you drinking diet drinks?

Look at the back. They used to call it aspartame.  Now they have this fancy word called phenalphenelics. Who knows what that word is?  It’s a chemical that lowers serotonin levels and it produces depression.

Facts about phenalphenalics…  Our body doesn’t outgas these chemicals long term especially when you’re putting away five to six diet drinks a day.  Talk about cellular toxicity, talk about residual chemicals in your body… do you know what depression is?  Clinically speaking?  Depression is the result of a chemical imbalance in the body that produces feelings of yuck.  When you add phenalphenalics like aspartame, NutraSweet, Sweet and Low and all of these diet drinks…you’re loading your body with chemicals that don’t outgas quickly and cause chemical imbalance in your body. Then you wonder why you have depression.

The next time you think you have low grade depression, get off your diet drinks for thirty days. It takes thirty days for the body to acclimate itself. Get off the drinks. An antihistamine is the worst drug in the world to detox from. Your body becomes used to a particular chemistry base and when you remove that chemical, your body biologically pitches a fit. If you have caffeine in your drinks, try two weeks not having any caffeine. You will have a throbbing headache within 24 hours [as your body demands its chemical fix. If you are determined to get that chemical out of your body, hang in there, your body will adjust in a few days.]

Weight Gain, Serotonin Levels, Diet Drinks, Metabolism

When people gain a lot of weight, they tend to get criticism. Then Self-Hatred and Guilt move in.  But do you know why you are gaining weight? Because you don’t feel loved.

When you don’t feel loved, serotonin levels diminish. If you’re on diet drinks, it makes them diminish even more.  So, you have a serotonin deficiency. When you have a serotonin deficiency, your rate of metabolism or caloric burn slows down and you put on weight.

How do you lose weight? Start loving yourself, start accepting yourself, start believing in yourself and allow the serotonin levels to come back to normal. Then your caloric burn will increase, your rate of metabolism will increase and you’ll begin to lose weight; not because you’re on a diet, but because you love yourself.

“How do you love yourself?”

Are you born again?  If so, then you know God loves you. So then, why don’t you love yourself? What would He tell you to do?  Love yourself. When you are born again, you have faith and you have hope. God’s nature is love. God loves you and He wants you to love yourself.

People tend to focus on their broken heart or may feel it has been broken “so many times”. Only God can heal a broken heart. If you really want it healed, then ask Him to heal it. He loves to heal broken hearts.

If you let your broken heart become your identity, you may fall prey to Self-Pity, a killer, or a spirit of Heaviness, Isaiah 61:3, which is depression and makes you live alone in your prison house. The Scriptures say, “You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul and mind; and you shall love your neighbor as yourself,”. As you love yourself, Luke 10:27.

When you’ve been injured, maybe because you grew up in an atmosphere where you didn’t have anyone to love or nurture you, you were victimized.  Victimization is a trauma, which a whole other issue that needs to be addressed.  But God never intended for us to be isolated and alone. Find some friends that don’t tear you down or drag you down. Find some Godly fellowship.

Becoming Free

You can defeat your enemy and God can work with you, but if you’re waiting for God just to deliver you from this stuff and you think there’s not an action required on your part, you’ve been deceived.  According to Ezekiel 18, you make yourself a new heart and you make yourself a new spirit, you deal with it, (Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Ezekiel 18:31).

God doesn’t want just to deliver you; He wants you to know what you’re being delivered from. He wants you to know enough that you can defeat it in the future.  God’s perfect will is not for you to continue to be delivered from the strongman.  God’s perfect will is that you don’t have a strongman at all.

Do you think there’s a level of sanctification in which we can walk where Satan is defeated in our life forever?  Yes, I’m walking in certain measures of that now.  Does it mean those strongmen in my life from the past don’t come knocking on my door from time to time, to see if I’m filled or empty?  Oh, yes, sometimes every day.  One came walking by two weeks ago, from my past. Satan’s workers came walking by, he knocked wanting back in and I said, “Mister, no vacancy”.

Block to Healing – Not Discerning the Lord’s Body

A powerful but often overlooked block is, Not discerning the Lord’s body. Let’s look at exactly what that means to us.                         1 Corinthians 11:27-31 describes physical diseases in God’s people including, weakness, sickness and premature death.

Therefore, whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.

This passage is talking about taking communion in disbelief concerning what the cup and bread represent. The cup means forgiveness of sin representing the blood of Jesus Christ. The broken body is our deliverance from sorrow and sickness and all manners of rejection, despair and disease.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely, he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed Isaiah 53:3-5.

When you look up the word “stripes” you will find it as Hebrew #2266 which means bruising, wounds, which of course we understand was the brutal beating of Jesus. It also refers you to a word that it originally came from, Hebrew #2250 which means fellowship and to join.

Perhaps we are not being healed because we may be Christians, but we don’t have a true relationship with Christ, an intimate fellowship. We may believe that the stripes freed us of disease but we have failed to have an intimate relationship with our Lord.

Have we in our longing to be healed and delivered from depression and disease, judged ourselves as in 1 Corinthians 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.? Maybe we are participating with spirits of Heaviness, Oppression and Self-Hatred. We need to remind ourselves that Jesus took our sorrow and we need to ask ourselves, “then why am I still participating with it?” Not in condemnation but conviction.

What am I doing selling out to the enemy, coming in agreement with what he thinks about me instead of what God thinks about me?  Why is it that, my serotonin levels drop and physiologically I become depressed along with the spiritual wickedness beating me up.

Prayer: In the name of Jesus, I am in charge of my life and my thoughts – not evil spirits. I am taking my life back because of what Jesus did for me on the cross. I am going to renew my mind of what God says about me and have my body, mind and spirit come into perfect peace. I am truly going to take communion in belief that my sins are forgiven and that I am freed from the curse of Rejection, Sorrow, Guilt, Shame and all manner of disease in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Laying on of Hands

Laying On Of Hands – Why Does it Not Work Like It Should?    Tony Sanchez 5-24-19

Is the lack of healing a God thing?  Not according to Scripture. Mark 16:18 says “…… they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”  Again, in James 5:14 it says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  We all want the blessings which happened at the cross.  We have been born again because of the death of Jesus Christ.  God want us to be healed spiritually rather than having to go to healing and deliverance ministries. He wants to heal all of us so we can practice righteousness and have peace.  So, why does the laying on of hands and prayer not working like it should?  Why are only five percent being healed?

So, what is keeping us from receiving healing?  Did the persecution and death of Jesus Christ tell us we are healed by His strips?  But He was wounded for our transgressions (continued sin even though we know it is wrong), He was bruised for our iniquities (wickedness from the generations and us that is at work within us); The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed Isaiah 53:5.  Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we receive healing.  Perhaps we have to look at ourselves to determine why we are not being healed.  Not getting healed is certainly not a God thing.

What are the things hindering our healing and the ability of those laying of hands on you so that you may be healed?  It goes without saying, 1.) Sin and 2.) Not trusting in what God says in His Word (Jesus). What sin is hindering your healing?

Hinderances – Dead Works

Dead works leads to death. Anger, back biting, bitterness, blaming, clamor - loud shouting, covertness, criticizing, envy, lack of faith, no repentance, murmuring/complaining, fear (anxiety, worry, stress, gossiping, hatred, hatred of self, hopelessness, , idolatry, jealousy, rage, rejection, rejection of self, self-pity, shame, slander, un-forgiveness, un-forgiveness of self, unloving, unloving of self, and wrath to name a few.  All of these sins have a profound effect on our health and hinders our ability to be healed. When you take ownership of  this sin, you disown God.

What does the bible say about sin that hinders us and will keep from the kingdom of God?

1 Cor 6:9-10 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 5:19-21  Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Eph 5:5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Colossians 3:5-6 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.

Colossians 3:8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

Revelation 22:15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Laying on of Hands

Ultimately, who is responsible for you to receive healing?  Is it the person that is laying hands on you and praying?  Or is it the responsibility of the person receiving prayer?  Answer:  It is the person receiving prayer.  Although, it is the responsibility of the person laying on of hands to show those being prayed for how to be healed successfully according to God’s word. Certainly, more than five percent should be getting healed.

The Six Basic Doctrines

Many Christians don’t know this, but the Bible details six doctrines that will ensure a sound spiritual foundation:

Hebrews 6:1-2 (KJV)

Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God. 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

The writer of Hebrews was lamenting that the believers he was addressing needed to be taught these basic doctrines all over again when they should’ve been teachers by this point in Hebrews 5:11-12 (of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food). Notice that knowing these six elementary doctrines is spoken of in terms of “laying” a “foundation.” In other words, these teachings are the elementary understructure for every Christian. They are as follows:

  1. Repentance from dead works that lead to death
  2. Faith in God.
  3. Instructions about baptisms.
  4. The laying on of hands.
  5. The resurrection of the dead.
  6. Eternal judgment.

When you fully understand these basic doctrines, no one will be able to lead you astray with false doctrine. For instance, some Christians falsely teach that it’s not necessary for believers to keep in continuous repentance, but the very first elementary doctrine contradicts this. Some say that spiritual rebirth isn’t biblical, but the third doctrine disproves this. Some say that everyone will ultimately be saved regardless of the evil they chose to practice without repentance, but the sixth doctrine refutes this. Simply put, the six basic doctrines will protect you from doctrinal error.

I’ve never heard a message on the six doctrines of Jesus Christ until recently.  The more I studied these doctrines, the more it made me understand how important these doctrines are for our healing.  There is a progression to reaching the end result of complete healing. Note: These are not doctrines of God, but cannot be done apart from the dependence on the help of God.  They are doctrines of Jesus Christ.

1.) Repentance – Repentance in the dictionary is turning from sin and taking responsibility for wrongdoing.  The Bible says Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Acts 3:19. This is the first step.  Interesting that faith is second.  For repentance to be effective it must be combined with faith, which is the second basic doctrine, otherwise repentance is just a dead exercise. It is of the utmost importance to your spiritual health to grasp this. How can one have faith if sin is dominating one’s life? Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten (correct by punishment or suffering). Therefore, be zealous and repent.  Unfortunately, the repentance is message is absent in the church and Body of Jesus Christ.

2.) Faith – Faith can only come from a new heart, regenerated by God and is a gift from God. It is the unique way that God uses to bring salvation to his people. We strengthen our faith by reading the Bible and hearing the gospel. The more we immerse ourselves in truth, the more our confidence grows. Everyone who is saved has been gifted faith. It is the ability to believe God is who He says He is, trusting Him in all things for all things. Faith also helps to combat unbelief and motivates us to do what God desires us to do. Not only do we grow our faith by reading Scripture and praying in our own time, but also by hearing the message in church with other believers. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him Hebrews 11:6.  The Bible says that faith is confidence in what we hope for and the assurance that the Lord is working, even though we cannot see it. Faith knows that no matter what the situation, in our lives or someone else’s, that the Lord is working in it.

It’s interesting that repentance and faith are the first two basic doctrines of Christianity because these are the conditions to receiving God’s gift of eternal salvation, testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 20:21. As Believers, our faith in God and His Word (Jesus) should be uncompromised.

3.) Baptisms – The Greek word for ‘baptize’ is baptizó (bap-TID-zoh), which means “overwhelmed, covered or submerged.” The noun form is in the plural in Hebrews 6:2 because there is more than one baptism in Christianity. Every believer should experience all baptisms.  We are going to study four baptisms in this lesson.

a.) Water Baptism – Baptism in water is simply a public proclamation of the believer’s baptism into God the Father. Acts 10:47-48 is a good example. Four things about water baptism you should know: 1. It is an outward expression of a personal decision already made.  2. It doesn’t symbolize washing, but rather death, death to the sin nature. 3. Being lifted out of the water symbolizes resurrection to a new life. 4. Believers are to be baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 28:19.

b.) Holy Spirit Baptism – As like Jesus.  When you’re born of the Spirit, the Spirit is in you (Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His & 1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?), whereas when you’re baptized in the Spirit, the Spirit is all over you because you’re covered or overwhelmed by the Spirit.  Note: Just because a Christian is baptized in the Spirit and can speak in tongues it does not mean that he or she is walking in the spirit.

c.) Baptism by Fire – Matthew 3:11-12 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” This is purging of dishonor, un-righteous, the sin of iniquities, and trespasses. It is the full immersion of the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

d). Baptism into One Body – First Corinthians 12:12-13 says, “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” The Body today is just the church. This is an interchangeable term for the church. The church is the Body, and the Body is the church. The Body is something altogether in the Spirit. We all have been baptized in the Spirit, into one Body. In one Spirit.  We all have been baptized in the same way. The Body is one together.  We cannot separate from one another or we will be defeated. We must all realize that the Body of Christ is the church. By baptism, the Body is produced and brought forth in this universe in the sight of God.  The Body has been granted great authority and power in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. We need a relationship with the Body to overcome the evil one.

4.) Laying on of Hands – Why Does it Not Work Like It Should? What should we do if it is not working?  Pray more?  Laying on of hands is not the first doctrine (teaching) of Jesus Christ.  It is repentance, faith, and baptisms.  The six doctrines are progressive.  One has to learn one before the other to be effective.  If we are in sin and have no faith, we can’t expect those who are laying hands on you and praying to be effective in your healing.  Sin will keep you in a spirit of stupor, Romans 11:8 Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day.”  Again, the person praying for you is not responsible for your sin.  It is you!  Although, it is the responsibility of the person laying on of hands to teach you the steps (doctrines of Jesus Christ) as we are commanded in the Great Commission, And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach (teach) the gospel to every creature Mark 16:15.  Perhaps God is not answering our prayers because we are not following what He tells us to do?

The first four doctrines prepare us for eternity as it applies to the last two doctrines.

5.) The Resurrection of the Dead – The resurrection of Jesus by God who raised Jesus from the dead after his crucifixion. The Apostle Paul explained the theological significance of the resurrection as God's revelation of His purpose, which is the redemption of the world.  It is best to let Scripture teach us about the resurrection of the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:12-32 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. 15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. 16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. 20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. 29 Otherwise, what will they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why then are they baptized for the dead? 30 And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? 31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

6.) Eternal judgment – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad, 2 Corinthians 5:10. The judgment seat is more than a place where people are known for what they have done. There is a purpose involved; they will be there in order that judgment be passed on them for what they have done or failed to do. "Each" (the word is important as showing the universality of the judgment) "will receive what is due, " which makes it clear that justice will be done.  That "each" will receive what is due makes it clear that Christ's judgment is to be an individual matter.

Eighty percent of the sickness issues in Believers is servanthood to sin, (And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin Romans 8:10).  Sin has trained us and we are dead as a result.  Only five percent of the sick are being healed because we are not following instructions by God.  He gives us the keys to healing in His Word.

God gave us power and authority to lay hands on the sick and he promised they would recover, (they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” Mark 16:18
He has given us the six doctrines of Jesus Christ for those who need to be healed.  Are we going to teach them so the sick may be healed? So, the question must be asked again: Why is the laying on of hands not working as it should?
In conclusion: I want to share a short story of a pastor who was laying on of hands and they were not being healed. He could not understand why.  So, he asked the Lord and God gave the pastor a very clear answer.  God said “My people are not being healed because I am not their Lord.” If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear Psalm 66:18.

TRAUMAS

Physical Injuries and Emotional Hurts

Spirits of: self-sabotage, self-retaliation, bitterness, self-bitterness, hatred, self-hatred, guilt, shame, condemnation, rejection, and unloving. Victim spirits: fear (as in stress, worry, nervousness, afraid, anxiety), un-forgiveness of others and self.
Traumas as defined in the dictionary as an emotional and/or physical stressor.  A stressor in its simplest form is fear and is a burden to one’s well-being. A trauma is the occurrence and the stressor is the fear attached to the occurrence (trauma).  Fear is a spirit.  A lifetime of fears from traumas pile up causing sickness and disease.  They need to be addressed in ministry.
Traumas come in all sizes from the littlest trauma to the highest.  Constant lifetime of exposure to traumas of any size can affect our physical and emotional well-being leading to what the medical field calls PTSD.

Physical traumas can affect every part of our body starting in one area and spreading to other areas including muscles, tendons, ligaments, organs, blood and air flow, skin disorders, itching, joint, neck, and back pain, immune system, nerve damage, and arthritis to name a few.

Major Physical Traumas:

  1. Accidents are a major source of traumas no matter how small.
  2. Physical beatings from another person are another major source of trauma.
  3. Rejection by parents.
  4. Medical procedures and operations.
Major Emotional Traumas:

  1. Victimization by parents’ spouses, siblings, relatives, partners, friends, jobs, government, churches, organizations, and even victimization of self where one has self-hatred and un-forgiveness towards self.
  2. Loss of job, house, spouse, partner, friendship, or self-worth.
  3. Death of someone close to us.
  4. Exposure to traumas as a soldier, EMT, Fire fighter, policeman, etc.
Not to be overlooked are generational traumas coming down from the generations such iniquities (actions such as physical and emotional abuse) performed on others that were passed on to us.  In addition, curses coming out of the mouth of any generation has a profound effect on those who have been cursed.
Take authority over the generational curse.  Curses are traumas.  It is important to tear down the assignment of words spoken that would give the enemy a legal right to orchestrate circumstances causing accidents/injuries/traumas. Also, take authority over programming in the mind (memories) created by the traumas.

Note:  Emotional traumas can trigger physical issues such as panic attacks, increased heart rate, upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation, migraines, shortness of breath, blurred vision, fatigue, confusion, dizziness, shock, anger, irritability, mood swings, guilt shame, condemnation, sorrow, withdrawing from others, depression, emotionally numbness, neglected, and disconnected.
The stressor or fear attached to a trauma is a spirit and it is important to cast out the physical or emotional stressor (fear) attached to the trauma at the approximate date it happened.

Fear

Taking authority over fear in your life

From Brother Tyler

Declaration:

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We are constantly confronted with fear (worry, stress anxiety, nervousness) in our society, some types of fear are much more powerful than others. The more powerful fears are:

·         Fear of man- what will people think?

·         Fear of self-failure-I am not good enough, what ifs, negative thoughts about self

·         Fear of physical pain or ailments (punishment, sickness, losing loved ones, etc.)

·         Fear of death (example, fear of end time events in the Bible)

·         Unbelief in the promises YVWH made

Fear has a tremendous effect on our health and life:

·         Constricts blood flow

·         Causes headaches

·         Allergies can be exasperated

·         Misalignment in body (the vertebrae, legs being shorter than the other, and shoulders not level)

·         Physical pain

·         Muscle spasms and cramps

·         Panic attacks

·         Seizures

·         Back pain

·         Rash

·         Constipation

·         Diarrhea

·         Excessive itching

·         Tightening of the tendons (Planter Fasciitis) and ligaments (ACL tears)

·         Erectile Dysfunction (Narrowing of the vessels)

·         Loss of hair (narrowing of the vessels, not allowing blood to flow to the follicle)

·         Blurred vision

·         Loss of appetite

·         Trouble breathing, lack of oxygen for the body

·         Binds up and freezes our mind and thoughts

·         Stops or slows our healing process

·         Makes us feel less than we are

·         Anxiety, (heaviness) depression, hopelessness

·         Poor decisions due to fear of man which will exasperate fear

·         No drive, no need or desire (Oppression, Romans 11:8) to do things which will help yourself or others

·         Bondage by overpowering personalities

·         Allow yourself to be manipulated

·         Bad dreams, nightmares

·         Negativity in thoughts and in words (fear of success as well)

·         Trouble resting, sleeping (insomnia)

·         Financial issues both loss and gain of finances & wealth

Fear in spirit form:

Romans 8:15 (NKJV) 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Psalm 34:4 (NKJV) 4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

Proverbs 29:25 (NKJV)25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be [a]safe.

2 Timothy 1:7 –(KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind

Job 4:12-15 (NKJV) 12 “Now a word was secretly brought to me, And my ear received a whisper of it. 13 In disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night, When deep sleep falls on men, 14 Fear came upon me, and trembling, Which made all my bones shake. 15 Then a spirit passed before my face; The hair on my body stood up.

Fear in our lives is a byproduct of not depending on YVWH for our strength.

Luke 12:25 (NKJV) 25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? Other versions say an hour to his life)

Psalm 27:1 (NKJV)27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) 6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

We have been given authority over fear:

Luke 8:50 (NKJV) 50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”

Luke 12:6-7 (NKJV) 6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two [a]copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Psalm 34:4 (NKJV)I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

1 John 4:4 (NKJV) You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV) And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who [a]believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[b] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Do not let fear rule over you or your loved ones!

·         Recognize when you are being attacked by fear and stand your ground

·         Command it to leave through Jesus

·         Give your worries to YVWH

·         Lean on the Lord for his strength and not yours

·         Intercede in prayer for loved ones and for your own fears

·         Speak the word out loud

·         Put on a garment of praise and worship

·         Words of encouragement and testimonies of the body of Christ

·         Have elders anoint and pray for you or loved ones
