Laying on of Hands

Laying On Of Hands – Why Does it Not Work Like It Should?    Tony Sanchez 5-24-19

Is the lack of healing a God thing?  Not according to Scripture. Mark 16:18 says “…… they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”  Again, in James 5:14 it says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.  We all want the blessings which happened at the cross.  We have been born again because of the death of Jesus Christ.  God want us to be healed spiritually rather than having to go to healing and deliverance ministries. He wants to heal all of us so we can practice righteousness and have peace.  So, why does the laying on of hands and prayer not working like it should?  Why are only five percent being healed?

So, what is keeping us from receiving healing?  Did the persecution and death of Jesus Christ tell us we are healed by His strips?  But He was wounded for our transgressions (continued sin even though we know it is wrong), He was bruised for our iniquities (wickedness from the generations and us that is at work within us); The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed Isaiah 53:5.  Jesus died on the cross for our sins so that we receive healing.  Perhaps we have to look at ourselves to determine why we are not being healed.  Not getting healed is certainly not a God thing.

What are the things hindering our healing and the ability of those laying of hands on you so that you may be healed?  It goes without saying, 1.) Sin and 2.) Not trusting in what God says in His Word (Jesus). What sin is hindering your healing?

Hinderances – Dead Works

Dead works leads to death. Anger, back biting, bitterness, blaming, clamor - loud shouting, covertness, criticizing, envy, lack of faith, no repentance, murmuring/complaining, fear (anxiety, worry, stress, gossiping, hatred, hatred of self, hopelessness, , idolatry, jealousy, rage, rejection, rejection of self, self-pity, shame, slander, un-forgiveness, un-forgiveness of self, unloving, unloving of self, and wrath to name a few.  All of these sins have a profound effect on our health and hinders our ability to be healed. When you take ownership of  this sin, you disown God.

What does the bible say about sin that hinders us and will keep from the kingdom of God?

1 Cor 6:9-10 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 5:19-21  Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Eph 5:5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

Colossians 3:5-6 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.

Colossians 3:8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

Revelation 22:15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Laying on of Hands

Ultimately, who is responsible for you to receive healing?  Is it the person that is laying hands on you and praying?  Or is it the responsibility of the person receiving prayer?  Answer:  It is the person receiving prayer.  Although, it is the responsibility of the person laying on of hands to show those being prayed for how to be healed successfully according to God’s word. Certainly, more than five percent should be getting healed.

The Six Basic Doctrines

Many Christians don’t know this, but the Bible details six doctrines that will ensure a sound spiritual foundation:

Hebrews 6:1-2 (KJV)

Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God. 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

The writer of Hebrews was lamenting that the believers he was addressing needed to be taught these basic doctrines all over again when they should’ve been teachers by this point in Hebrews 5:11-12 (of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food). Notice that knowing these six elementary doctrines is spoken of in terms of “laying” a “foundation.” In other words, these teachings are the elementary understructure for every Christian. They are as follows:

  1. Repentance from dead works that lead to death
  2. Faith in God.
  3. Instructions about baptisms.
  4. The laying on of hands.
  5. The resurrection of the dead.
  6. Eternal judgment.

When you fully understand these basic doctrines, no one will be able to lead you astray with false doctrine. For instance, some Christians falsely teach that it’s not necessary for believers to keep in continuous repentance, but the very first elementary doctrine contradicts this. Some say that spiritual rebirth isn’t biblical, but the third doctrine disproves this. Some say that everyone will ultimately be saved regardless of the evil they chose to practice without repentance, but the sixth doctrine refutes this. Simply put, the six basic doctrines will protect you from doctrinal error.

I’ve never heard a message on the six doctrines of Jesus Christ until recently.  The more I studied these doctrines, the more it made me understand how important these doctrines are for our healing.  There is a progression to reaching the end result of complete healing. Note: These are not doctrines of God, but cannot be done apart from the dependence on the help of God.  They are doctrines of Jesus Christ.

1.) Repentance – Repentance in the dictionary is turning from sin and taking responsibility for wrongdoing.  The Bible says Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Acts 3:19. This is the first step.  Interesting that faith is second.  For repentance to be effective it must be combined with faith, which is the second basic doctrine, otherwise repentance is just a dead exercise. It is of the utmost importance to your spiritual health to grasp this. How can one have faith if sin is dominating one’s life? Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten (correct by punishment or suffering). Therefore, be zealous and repent.  Unfortunately, the repentance is message is absent in the church and Body of Jesus Christ.

2.) Faith – Faith can only come from a new heart, regenerated by God and is a gift from God. It is the unique way that God uses to bring salvation to his people. We strengthen our faith by reading the Bible and hearing the gospel. The more we immerse ourselves in truth, the more our confidence grows. Everyone who is saved has been gifted faith. It is the ability to believe God is who He says He is, trusting Him in all things for all things. Faith also helps to combat unbelief and motivates us to do what God desires us to do. Not only do we grow our faith by reading Scripture and praying in our own time, but also by hearing the message in church with other believers. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him Hebrews 11:6.  The Bible says that faith is confidence in what we hope for and the assurance that the Lord is working, even though we cannot see it. Faith knows that no matter what the situation, in our lives or someone else’s, that the Lord is working in it.

It’s interesting that repentance and faith are the first two basic doctrines of Christianity because these are the conditions to receiving God’s gift of eternal salvation, testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 20:21. As Believers, our faith in God and His Word (Jesus) should be uncompromised.

3.) Baptisms – The Greek word for ‘baptize’ is baptizó (bap-TID-zoh), which means “overwhelmed, covered or submerged.” The noun form is in the plural in Hebrews 6:2 because there is more than one baptism in Christianity. Every believer should experience all baptisms.  We are going to study four baptisms in this lesson.

a.) Water Baptism – Baptism in water is simply a public proclamation of the believer’s baptism into God the Father. Acts 10:47-48 is a good example. Four things about water baptism you should know: 1. It is an outward expression of a personal decision already made.  2. It doesn’t symbolize washing, but rather death, death to the sin nature. 3. Being lifted out of the water symbolizes resurrection to a new life. 4. Believers are to be baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” Matthew 28:19.

b.) Holy Spirit Baptism – As like Jesus.  When you’re born of the Spirit, the Spirit is in you (Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His & 1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?), whereas when you’re baptized in the Spirit, the Spirit is all over you because you’re covered or overwhelmed by the Spirit.  Note: Just because a Christian is baptized in the Spirit and can speak in tongues it does not mean that he or she is walking in the spirit.

c.) Baptism by Fire – Matthew 3:11-12 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” This is purging of dishonor, un-righteous, the sin of iniquities, and trespasses. It is the full immersion of the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

d). Baptism into One Body – First Corinthians 12:12-13 says, “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.” The Body today is just the church. This is an interchangeable term for the church. The church is the Body, and the Body is the church. The Body is something altogether in the Spirit. We all have been baptized in the Spirit, into one Body. In one Spirit.  We all have been baptized in the same way. The Body is one together.  We cannot separate from one another or we will be defeated. We must all realize that the Body of Christ is the church. By baptism, the Body is produced and brought forth in this universe in the sight of God.  The Body has been granted great authority and power in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit. We need a relationship with the Body to overcome the evil one.

4.) Laying on of Hands – Why Does it Not Work Like It Should? What should we do if it is not working?  Pray more?  Laying on of hands is not the first doctrine (teaching) of Jesus Christ.  It is repentance, faith, and baptisms.  The six doctrines are progressive.  One has to learn one before the other to be effective.  If we are in sin and have no faith, we can’t expect those who are laying hands on you and praying to be effective in your healing.  Sin will keep you in a spirit of stupor, Romans 11:8 Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day.”  Again, the person praying for you is not responsible for your sin.  It is you!  Although, it is the responsibility of the person laying on of hands to teach you the steps (doctrines of Jesus Christ) as we are commanded in the Great Commission, And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach (teach) the gospel to every creature Mark 16:15.  Perhaps God is not answering our prayers because we are not following what He tells us to do?

The first four doctrines prepare us for eternity as it applies to the last two doctrines.

5.) The Resurrection of the Dead – The resurrection of Jesus by God who raised Jesus from the dead after his crucifixion. The Apostle Paul explained the theological significance of the resurrection as God's revelation of His purpose, which is the redemption of the world.  It is best to let Scripture teach us about the resurrection of the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:12-32 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. 15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. 16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. 20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. 29 Otherwise, what will they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why then are they baptized for the dead? 30 And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? 31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”

6.) Eternal judgment – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad, 2 Corinthians 5:10. The judgment seat is more than a place where people are known for what they have done. There is a purpose involved; they will be there in order that judgment be passed on them for what they have done or failed to do. "Each" (the word is important as showing the universality of the judgment) "will receive what is due, " which makes it clear that justice will be done.  That "each" will receive what is due makes it clear that Christ's judgment is to be an individual matter.

Eighty percent of the sickness issues in Believers is servanthood to sin, (And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin Romans 8:10).  Sin has trained us and we are dead as a result.  Only five percent of the sick are being healed because we are not following instructions by God.  He gives us the keys to healing in His Word.

God gave us power and authority to lay hands on the sick and he promised they would recover, (they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover” Mark 16:18
He has given us the six doctrines of Jesus Christ for those who need to be healed.  Are we going to teach them so the sick may be healed? So, the question must be asked again: Why is the laying on of hands not working as it should?
In conclusion: I want to share a short story of a pastor who was laying on of hands and they were not being healed. He could not understand why.  So, he asked the Lord and God gave the pastor a very clear answer.  God said “My people are not being healed because I am not their Lord.” If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear Psalm 66:18.

TRAUMAS

Physical Injuries and Emotional Hurts

Spirits of: self-sabotage, self-retaliation, bitterness, self-bitterness, hatred, self-hatred, guilt, shame, condemnation, rejection, and unloving. Victim spirits: fear (as in stress, worry, nervousness, afraid, anxiety), un-forgiveness of others and self.
Traumas as defined in the dictionary as an emotional and/or physical stressor.  A stressor in its simplest form is fear and is a burden to one’s well-being. A trauma is the occurrence and the stressor is the fear attached to the occurrence (trauma).  Fear is a spirit.  A lifetime of fears from traumas pile up causing sickness and disease.  They need to be addressed in ministry.
Traumas come in all sizes from the littlest trauma to the highest.  Constant lifetime of exposure to traumas of any size can affect our physical and emotional well-being leading to what the medical field calls PTSD.

Physical traumas can affect every part of our body starting in one area and spreading to other areas including muscles, tendons, ligaments, organs, blood and air flow, skin disorders, itching, joint, neck, and back pain, immune system, nerve damage, and arthritis to name a few.

Major Physical Traumas:

  1. Accidents are a major source of traumas no matter how small.
  2. Physical beatings from another person are another major source of trauma.
  3. Rejection by parents.
  4. Medical procedures and operations.
Major Emotional Traumas:

  1. Victimization by parents’ spouses, siblings, relatives, partners, friends, jobs, government, churches, organizations, and even victimization of self where one has self-hatred and un-forgiveness towards self.
  2. Loss of job, house, spouse, partner, friendship, or self-worth.
  3. Death of someone close to us.
  4. Exposure to traumas as a soldier, EMT, Fire fighter, policeman, etc.
Not to be overlooked are generational traumas coming down from the generations such iniquities (actions such as physical and emotional abuse) performed on others that were passed on to us.  In addition, curses coming out of the mouth of any generation has a profound effect on those who have been cursed.
Take authority over the generational curse.  Curses are traumas.  It is important to tear down the assignment of words spoken that would give the enemy a legal right to orchestrate circumstances causing accidents/injuries/traumas. Also, take authority over programming in the mind (memories) created by the traumas.

Note:  Emotional traumas can trigger physical issues such as panic attacks, increased heart rate, upset stomach, diarrhea, constipation, migraines, shortness of breath, blurred vision, fatigue, confusion, dizziness, shock, anger, irritability, mood swings, guilt shame, condemnation, sorrow, withdrawing from others, depression, emotionally numbness, neglected, and disconnected.
The stressor or fear attached to a trauma is a spirit and it is important to cast out the physical or emotional stressor (fear) attached to the trauma at the approximate date it happened.

Fear

Taking authority over fear in your life

From Brother Tyler

Declaration:

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

2 Timothy 1:7 - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

We are constantly confronted with fear (worry, stress anxiety, nervousness) in our society, some types of fear are much more powerful than others. The more powerful fears are:

·         Fear of man- what will people think?

·         Fear of self-failure-I am not good enough, what ifs, negative thoughts about self

·         Fear of physical pain or ailments (punishment, sickness, losing loved ones, etc.)

·         Fear of death (example, fear of end time events in the Bible)

·         Unbelief in the promises YVWH made

Fear has a tremendous effect on our health and life:

·         Constricts blood flow

·         Causes headaches

·         Allergies can be exasperated

·         Misalignment in body (the vertebrae, legs being shorter than the other, and shoulders not level)

·         Physical pain

·         Muscle spasms and cramps

·         Panic attacks

·         Seizures

·         Back pain

·         Rash

·         Constipation

·         Diarrhea

·         Excessive itching

·         Tightening of the tendons (Planter Fasciitis) and ligaments (ACL tears)

·         Erectile Dysfunction (Narrowing of the vessels)

·         Loss of hair (narrowing of the vessels, not allowing blood to flow to the follicle)

·         Blurred vision

·         Loss of appetite

·         Trouble breathing, lack of oxygen for the body

·         Binds up and freezes our mind and thoughts

·         Stops or slows our healing process

·         Makes us feel less than we are

·         Anxiety, (heaviness) depression, hopelessness

·         Poor decisions due to fear of man which will exasperate fear

·         No drive, no need or desire (Oppression, Romans 11:8) to do things which will help yourself or others

·         Bondage by overpowering personalities

·         Allow yourself to be manipulated

·         Bad dreams, nightmares

·         Negativity in thoughts and in words (fear of success as well)

·         Trouble resting, sleeping (insomnia)

·         Financial issues both loss and gain of finances & wealth

Fear in spirit form:

Romans 8:15 (NKJV) 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Psalm 34:4 (NKJV) 4 I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

Proverbs 29:25 (NKJV)25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be [a]safe.

2 Timothy 1:7 –(KJV) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind

Job 4:12-15 (NKJV) 12 “Now a word was secretly brought to me, And my ear received a whisper of it. 13 In disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night, When deep sleep falls on men, 14 Fear came upon me, and trembling, Which made all my bones shake. 15 Then a spirit passed before my face; The hair on my body stood up.

Fear in our lives is a byproduct of not depending on YVWH for our strength.

Luke 12:25 (NKJV) 25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? Other versions say an hour to his life)

Psalm 27:1 (NKJV)27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) 6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

We have been given authority over fear:

Luke 8:50 (NKJV) 50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”

Luke 12:6-7 (NKJV) 6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two [a]copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Psalm 34:4 (NKJV)I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

1 John 4:4 (NKJV) You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV) And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who [a]believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they[b] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Do not let fear rule over you or your loved ones!

·         Recognize when you are being attacked by fear and stand your ground

·         Command it to leave through Jesus

·         Give your worries to YVWH

·         Lean on the Lord for his strength and not yours

·         Intercede in prayer for loved ones and for your own fears

·         Speak the word out loud

·         Put on a garment of praise and worship

·         Words of encouragement and testimonies of the body of Christ

·         Have elders anoint and pray for you or loved ones

Alzhemier's Disease - Root Cause

Greetings,

My last article was a piece about sickness and disease where I talked about the consequences of not being obedient to God’s commandments, statues, instructions, and laws as outlined throughout the Bible and especially in Deuteronomy 28.  I mentioned that I would send out a piece on Alzheimer’s disease.  An article came out in The Trumpet magazine article (link above) and it has an interesting correlation between Alzheimer’s disease and the way society treats the mother/father and the elderly.  The article compares the United States and Greece, which have similar life expectancies. It points out that the United States, is 17 times more likely to contract Alzheimer’s disease than Greece.  The article says the major reason Greece has 17 times less Alzheimer’s Disease cases is that Greece honors their parents and the elderly.    What are the spiritual dynamics involved here?  The answers began to unravel as I researched and meditated in what the Bible had to say.

The medical field does not have an answer as to why we contract Alzheimer’s Disease.  Nor do they have a cure.  By searching scriptures in the Bible, one can get an idea why we have the epidemic with mother/father, elders, and even widows. We have been tasked to respect, honor, and to be their caretakers as they become elderly. Not to put them in nursing homes or ignore them.  We have been commanded to Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you” Exodus 20:12, to respect them “‘Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father” Leviticus 19:32.  We are to honor the elderly, ‘You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man, and fear your God: I am the Lord” Leviticus 19:32. We must see the elderly as a crown of glory Proverbs 16:31 (TLB) White hair is a crown of glory and is seen most among the godly. Even Moses sought counsel from the elderly in the form of his father in-law Jethro who had much wisdom to share “So Moses heeded the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said. Exodus 18:24. The widows are to be taken care of by everyone.  1 Timothy 5:3 Take care of any widow who has no one else to care for her.  Fact is: Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world James 1:27.

We fail to understand the meaning and significance of these Scriptures.  Honor means to honor.  We have children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a society that does not respect mother, father and the elderly.  The world is all about the youth in the times we are living in.  Go anywhere and the elderly are treated as non-entity even though they have decades of experience.  Children bash their fathers and mothers.  They seek advice from the younger generation and they ignore what we tell them.  Most media portray the elderly as a non-entity and our children have bought into this fleshly thinking which is contrary to the Spirit of righteousness (Galatians 5:17 For the flesh (world) lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh (world); and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish).

So, instead of getting counsel from the father/mothers/elders, they seek advice from their friends as King Rehoboam did in 1 Kings 12:8 But he rejected the advice which the elders had given him, and consulted the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.

Think of what the possible root cause of sickness and disease is as it pertains to the father/mother/elderly not feeling honored.  The entry point is the father/mother/elderly taking offense to the disrespect shown by the younger generation. Examples:

The number one thing I have heard from mothers and fathers in the Healing Room Ministry is: “they have their own lives.” (Rejection, unloved, bitterness and unforgiveness).

Failed to be included in family functions.  (Rejection, unloved, bitterness, and unforgiveness).

Slander by the children.  (Rejection, unloved, bitterness, and unforgiveness).

List of wrongs they have against us. (Rejection, unloved, bitterness, and unforgiveness).

Wanting us to live our lives according to their expectations.  (Offended, bitterness, and unforgiveness).

Failure to lend a helping hand.  (Rejection, feeling unloved, bitterness, and unforgiveness).

Mothers and fathers being put in assisted living homes.  (Rejection, abandonment, feeling unloved, bitterness, and unforgiveness).

They only come over when they need something.  (Rejection, unloved, bitterness, unforgiveness).

They have embarrassed me because of their behavior.  (Offended, bitter, and unforgiveness).

Does this sound familiar?

This rejection and feeling unloved turns into bitterness, un-forgiveness, and a broken heart as a result of the younger generation who refuse to respect them.  This is the cause and effect principle.  The cause is the younger generations not honoring the elderly and the effect is sickness and disease in the elderly. It is not the dishonoring individuals that are going to suffer with Alzheimer’s disease at their age, but the same disease awaits them as their children dishonor them, because that is what they taught their children.

My memory is not as good as it once was and I am not saying that I will contract Alzheimer’s Disease, but I should not have the memory loss that I was experiencing because God promises us a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind) always. So, I needed to know the cause of the memory loss I was experiencing.

I was talking to the Holy Spirit about these diseases and I said, “I am part of a healing ministry.  What is the key to healing those with Alzheimer’s Disease?”  Immediately, I received a word.  FORGIVENESS!!  WOW!  That same day I started a process of forgiving my children and grandchildren throughout the day.  After a month of declaring forgiveness, my memory was restored.  Confirmation from the Holy Spirit that forgiveness was correct and the key to healing Alzheimer’s disease.

We can’t control how the younger generation treats us, but we can do something that could protect us from Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia and that is to forgive them for rejecting and not honoring us and to ask God for forgiveness for having un-forgiveness towards them. In addition, it is our responsibility in the healing ministry to lead those in a prayer of forgiveness who feel dishonored by the younger generation.

Very little is taught on the fifth commandment Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you” Exodus 20:12.  Even less is taught about the consequences because we rely on the world (flesh) to provide answers.  When are we going to turn to God, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit for answers.  The symptoms and characteristics of sickness and disease (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) are manifesting in the physical and mind/emotional right in front of our eyes.  There is so much despair, hopelessness, and suffering.  We have a veil over our eyes and our ears are plugged.  We have a spirit of stupor working in our lives (Romans 11:8 Just as it is written: “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear, To this very day).

Understand, there are sicknesses and diseases that can be specific to a sin, but not everyone that is offended by children will contract Alzheimer’s Disease.  We have to identify the symptoms and characteristics to determine the root cause so that we know how to pray for healing in the name of Jesus.  One example is to look at the traumas (stressor of the physical and emotional) that have occurred in your life and determine if you are in captivity from the traumas. Unloving or rejection (these are traumas/fears) can start in the womb when one or more parents rejects the child.  Perhaps, the father or mother never said the words “I love you.”  Such powerful words that define a person’s life.  Fail to say “I love you” impacts the person in a very negative way physically/ emotionally, and especially when it comes to Alzheimer’s Disease.  There is a mind/body connection here.  Rejection in the emotional causes’ physical disease.

Bottom line is this:  As more and more of the younger generation become more and more disrespectful of the elderly, you will see more and more Alzheimer’s Disease.

Below is the greatest intercessory pray of all time for unbelievers and believers alike.  Jesus’s prayer applies to us all at one time or another.

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” Luke 23:34.

Blessings,

Rejection – Part Two

Satan will seize upon every sinful reaction to the hurts of rejection, and evil spirits will enter that person.  Unclean spirits will link themselves together to form a demonic chain of oppression.  As more and more rejections occur, more unclean spirits enter and become linked together in a person’s life.  The rejection becomes one with the person.

We must identify the reactions to rejection, as it opens doors to the demonic.  Wrong reactions to rejection cause us to lash out at others in confrontation of anger, bitterness, rebellion, self-pity, insecurity, fears, which can lead to depression (despair/hopelessness, Anxiety (fear) in the heart of man causes depression Proverbs 12:25).

Rebellion – Rejection can always be found to be the root of rebellion and can start at an early age.  Most have not been loved and many have been rejected by their own parents and others.  Misbehavior as children have gone uncorrected and their behavior becomes disrespectful: “If they don’t love us, why should we respect them?”  When those in leadership use their authority abusively, it is easy for us to lose respect and become disobedient.  Rebellion will produce self-will, independence, unteachableness, unpersuadableness, unreasonable, stubbornness, selfishness and pride- fullness. Rebellion is an antichrist spirt and it can be identified as witchcraft (For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity (wickedness) and idolatry 1 Samuel 15:23).

Bitterness/AngerPursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled, Hebrews 12:14-15.  Bitterness is an evil fruit produced by one’s unwillingness to forgive another’s trespasses.  Un-forgiveness is without excuse.  Jesus taught that anyone who asked His forgiveness for their insurmountable sin debt and then refused to forgive another in the smallest of matters, would be turned over to “the tormentors(Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise, shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses, Matthew 18:32-35.  The tormentors are evil spirits and to be under the power of evil spirits is a curse.  The only way to escape the curse brought on by unforgiveness is through repentance toward God and forgiveness of all who need forgiving.  We must forgive the curser.

Bitterness and unforgiveness penalizes both the offended and the offender (If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained” John 20:23).  When unforgiveness prevails, two persons become entangled in bondage.  The unforgiving person is held in a broken relationship due to bitterness and anger and their unforgiveness is projected onto the other person.

As the root of bitterness grows stronger, through repeated rejections and feeding on the hurts, it produces huge anger, hatred, retaliation, violence and both murder of the tongue and in extreme cases, physical murder.  A companion spirit to bitterness is a memory of recall.  It is also known as record of wrongs that keeps the painful memoires of the past alive and the hurts will continue to be reviewed in one’s mind.  Bitterness is a weed that invades our soul and we must take to heart what it says in Ephesians 4:31-32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you, and the warning in Hebrews 12:15 Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled.

Self-Pity – “Nobody doesn’t love me.” I have found in ministry that the self-pity spirit is the least known and understood of all spirits.  Most do not discern the self-pity spirit working in them and most in ministry do not recognize the self-pity working in them.  Self-pity is an inward reaction to rejection.  Self-pity is a form of self-affliction whereby one permits themselves to indulge in thoughts of unfairness until they become thoroughly miserable.    Self-pity is a consequence of people being hurt causing depression (hopelessness/despair) and oppression (spirit of stupor “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear,” Romans 11:8

Escapism – The Psalmist, David expressed the desire to escape from his oppressors in these words, “So I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest,” Psalm 55:6.  Many of us know the feeling of just wanting to get away from it all.  When the circumstances of life turn sour, it is a temptation to run away or to hide. They shut people out.  Hurt people often become escape artists who devise clever ways of escaping the unpleasantness of life.

A common form of escapism is day dreaming whereby a person creates his own pleasant world and live in that world through their imagination.  They shut out their mind the reality of stressful (fearful) circumstances and withdraw into unreality.

Another route of escape is through sleep.  As long as one stays in bed, hiding under the convers, they are not having to face responsibilities or unpleasant things.  Therefore, sleep can become an addiction and obsession.  A futile attempt to sidestep life’s problems, all of which leads to oppression.

I know a person who had a terrorist of a father and at an early age he would find ways to avoid his father for months on end even though they lived in the same house.  He was always extremely fearful of the mere physical encounter with his father.  In essence, he went into hiding in his own house to avoid the fear brought on by his father.

Addictions – Why do most, if not all have some level of addiction?  Addictions have their root in unloving.  Addictions happen because people are trying to fill the void of not feeling worthy or worthy to be loved.  Rejection, abandonment, guilt shame, self-condemnation, and hurts are central to addictions.

Any addiction, whether to alcohol, drugs, prescription medicines, pornography, shopping, work alcoholic, gambling, cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, shopping, or even food/diet, is a form of idolatry. The first commandment is, “You shall not have any other gods before Me.” The second commandment is, “you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,” 20:3,5. Point to know here with addictions, is we have to deal with generational wickedness (iniquities) and they can go back hundreds and even thousands of years.

When a person is addicted, they are really bowing down and serving the addiction as their god. It is the sin of idolatry. They become a slave to it and they are held in bondage. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin, John 8:34.

Inferiority – Inferiority is closely related to rejection.  One who is rejected, who is put down by others, is prone to put themselves down.  When they compare themselves with others, they evaluate themselves as inferior.  Whey they take inventory of their capabilities, they judge themselves to be inadequate. In God’s sight no person is greater than another, for there is no partiality with God, Romans 2:11.  God has given each of us our abilities and responsibilities.

Insecurity – There is security in love.  When our earthly father loves us, he conveys to us an understanding of the Heavenly Father’s Love and it is easy for us to believe that our Heavenly Father loves us too.  The person who knows beyond any doubt that God loves them will have stability in their life.  On the other hand, the person who is not loved by those who should love them is prone to doubt even God’s love.  The resultant insecurity produces fear. The fear of not feeling loved.   Unfortunately, we have generation after generation who were not taught God’s love and we are tormented as it says in 1 John 4:18 “because fear involves torment”.  We need His perfect love to cast out all fears of unloving, “but perfect love casts out fear.” Our security rests in God’s Love.  When we are confident that God loves us, fear is cast out.

Hopelessness – The individual who sees no prospect of being loved is a like person trapped in a vast desert with no water and no hope to survive.  The one wounded by rejection is without water and they begin to dry up inside.  Their hopelessness leads to discouragement, despair, dejection, defeat, and depression.  Without hope of being loved, there is no joy and no desire to live.  A spirit of death enters and when one comes into agreement with death it causes one to go into a lower level called oppression, also called a spirit of stupor. It is very difficult to bring those out of their stupor because they have “Eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear,” Romans 11:8.

The antidote for unloving is God’s perfect love. When one finds love, he finds hope. Loving relationships are like wells of living water, especially our relationship with Jesus who said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink” John 7:37. When we give Godly love to another, we are giving them a cup of cold water in the name of Jesus.  The hopeless will be replaced by our Godly love.  One who needs refreshing love from others, must not sit idly waiting for others to take the initiative.  Those who feel hopeless, desire to be loved and we should pour out Godly love in abundance.

Defensiveness – A wounded person can be very sensitive and can bite just as a wounded dog can bite you, “But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another,” Galatians 5:15.  Defensiveness expresses itself in criticism and judgmentalism.  Judgmentalism takes the position: judge others who have hurt you, and judge others who have judged you.  Instead of providing security, judgmentalism invites retaliation from others, “Judge not, that you be not judged.  For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you Matthew,” 7:1-2.  Judgementalism blinds one’s eyes to their own faults.  They become self-deceived and can only see the faults of others.

Judgmental people are prone to project their own faults onto others.  An example: one accusing others of not being a loving person when in fact they are not a loving person.  This is a transfer of blame and it is a deception.

When we have been trespassed against, it is not our responsibility to stand up for our rights and to justify ourselves, “‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also, Matthew 5:38-39.  Need we tear down others in an effort to build ourselves up or justify our arguments?    Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21.

Distrust and Disrespect – Trust is a bridge that unites one person with another.  How can one trust and respect those who have who have wounded them by rejection, betrayal, abandonment, or unfaithfulness?  When trust has been destroyed, the relationship is destroyed.  Trust can be reestablished, but it can only be accomplished with great effort and great caution.  The rebuilding of trust is a process and it takes a lot of time, patience, persistence, and forgiveness.

The torment of distrust and disrespect must be rooted out and overcome by trust in God.  As one becomes secure in God’s love, he will be able to endure other’s injustices without suffering inward repercussions.  Distrust and disrespect cannot be excused or justified. The one who maintains respect, even though abused, finds favor with God. if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God, 1 Peter 2:20.

Hardness When someone who has been abused and forms a shell of protection, they develop a “turtle personality.” It is hard and impenetrable.  They say “I won’t be run over and hurt by other people any longer.  I am tough and I won’t let anyone get through to me.”  When other people are trying to do us harm, we forget that God is our Refuge and Strength, our Rock, and Fortress.  Instead, we build a hard shell around ourselves and withdraw into a self-constructed defense mechanism.  The problem with our hardness is that it robs us of compassion.  Thus, we are hindered from fulfilling our ministry to others, Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous, 1 Peter 3:8.

Record of Wrongs – Rejection has many companion spirits attached to it.  Unloving, hurts, unforgiveness, criticism, anger, rage, slander, self-pity to name a few.  All of them are fueled by a record of wrongs against those people who they feel did them wrong. Instead of forgiving those who offended them, they choose relive all those wrongs throughout their lives.  God is very clear about our record of wrongs in Ephesians 4:31-32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

We have reviewed some of the most common reactions to rejection.  Each represents a departure from God’s Word and constitutes sin and sin becomes an open invitation for Satan to bring destruction. Cain’s sacrifice was refused by God which was rejection to Cain.  God warned Cain: So, the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?  If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it, Genesis 4:6-7.”                                                Tony Sanchez, 01-11-2019
