Every sin has an evil spirit behind it. The first sin was by Adam and Eve and Satan, who is an evil spirt, tempted them to sin.
The first
sin – Genius 3:1-6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for
food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise,
she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he
ate. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were
naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. Now
the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had
made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of
every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat
the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is
in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you
touch it, lest you die.’ ” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not
surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be
opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Satan set the standard for all the
other evil spirits to tempt mankind to sin.
Just what
are demons and why are we afraid to teach about demons in the church of today?
Demon definition – an evil spirit or devil, especially one
thought to possess a person or act as a tormentor. They are evil spirits sent to destroy believers
and unbelievers.
Demons are fallen angels – Revelation 12:9 So the great
dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who
deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast
out with him.
The earth was without form. Genesis 1:2 The earth was
without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the
Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. It is safe to say all the fallen angels
were on earth when God created man as mentioned in Genisis 3:1 Now the
serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had
made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of
every tree of the garden’?”
Demons, are evil spirit beings. They can cause pain and suffering that can
lead to captivity. Satan and his demons work to destroy the work of God and
deceive anyone they can. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your
adversary the devil (evil spirit) walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour (destroy). 2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder!
For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
The demons are described as evil spirits Matthew 10:1 And when He had called His twelve
disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out,
and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.
Unclean spirits Mark 1:27 Then they were all amazed, so
that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What new doctrine
is this? For with authority, He commands even the unclean spirits (demons),
and they obey Him.”
Lying spirits 1 Kings 22:23 Therefore look! The Lord has
put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord
has declared disaster against you.”
They are fallen angels of Satan Revelation 12:9 So the
great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who
deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast
out with him.
Satan and his demons deceive the world 2 Corinthians 4:4
whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light
of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on
them.
Promulgates (promotes) false doctrine 1 Timothy 4:1 Now
the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith,
giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons
Attacks Christians continually, 2 Corinthians 12:7 And
lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a
thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I
be exalted above measure. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because
your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may
devour.
What Demons
(evil spirits) Do We Struggle With?
The list of evil spirits is immense and they affect every
part of our existence. We can start with
the number one evil spirt because this spirt is mentioned 365 times in the
Bible. FEAR!
How do I know fear is an evil spirit? The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7 For
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound
mind. Who gives us a spirit of
fear? Satan! God goes on to tell us we have power
(authority) and a sound mind. God is telling us Satan gives us an unsound
mind. Fear goes hand and hand with an
unsound mind. Dementia definition: a
usually progressive condition (such as Alzheimer's disease) marked by the
development of multiple cognitive deficits (such as memory impairment, aphasia,
and the inability to plan and initiate complex behavior). Fear causes an
unsound mind.
There are a many other evil spirits afflicting us that we do
not consider.
Unloving Spirit Abandonment Spirit Bitterness Spirit Anger Spirit Familiar Spirit Unforgiven Spirit
Familiar Spirit
Spirit of Divination Spirit of
Jealousy Lying Spirit Perverse Spirit Sprit of Haughtiness
Spirit of Heaviness
Spirit of Whoredoms Spirit of
Infirmity Death and Dumb Spirit Spirit of Bondage
Seducing Spirits
Anti-Christ Spirit, Spirit of Poverty
Spirit of Death Vagabond Spirit,
and Generational Spirits
The Demon possessed man had a legion of evil spirits in him,
Luke 8:26-27 Then they sailed to the country of the Gadarenes, which is
opposite Galilee. 27 And when He stepped out on the land, there
met Him a certain man from the city who had demons for a long time. And he wore
no clothes, nor did he live in a house but in the tombs. Verse 30 Jesus asked him, saying,
“What is your name?” And he said,
“Legion,” because many demons had entered him. 31 And they begged Him that He
would not command them to go out into the abyss. A legion is 6000. The legions of spirts had possessed this man.
The demon possessed a child.
Mark 19-21 He answered him and said, “O faithless generation, how
long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.” 20
Then they brought him to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit
convulsed him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth. 21
So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 And often he
has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You
can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”
In many cases demons can be very difficult to cast out
according to Jesus. Jesus described the
demon as a death and dumb spirit. It
resembles the autistic illness because they are so familiar. Mark 25-29 25 When Jesus saw that the
people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it,
“Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”
26 Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And
he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” 27 But Jesus took him
by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.
28 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him
privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”
29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and
fasting.” Fasting that is pleasing
to God is in Isaiah 58 and it has nothing to do with food.
Romans tells us how many angels are in existence since God
created them in Hebrews 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the
city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company
of angels. Innumerable means countless or too
numerous to be counted. One can assume innumerable to be billions, trillions or
more. We must take into consideration
that many of the innumerable angels were cast out of heaven. The Bible explicitly and implicitly teaches
that Satan fell from his position in heaven and many angels fell with him. The passage that best supports the idea that
Satan took one third of the angels with him in rebellion is in Revelation
12:3-4 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon
having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4 His tail
drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon
stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon
as it was born.
Again, one can assume innumerable to be billions, trillions
or more. Fallen angels are evil spirits
or demons. They are here to destroy
God’s children whether they are believers or not. For we are all made in the image of God, Revelation
1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God, he created him;
male and female He created them.
Evil spirits (demons) play a huge part in our physical and
emotional health. Demons are here to
destroy us. That is why Jessus in the
Great Commission calls us to cast out demons, Mark 16:17 And these signs
will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out
demons. Key point is those who
believe. Do the vast majority in
the body of Christ believe? NO! Do you know anyone who casts out evil
spirts? Does your church teach
this? No? Are they afraid to teach? Yes.
If they did, we would not be so sick and diseased.
Again, lets look at this scripture: Matthew 10:1 And when
He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power (authority)
over unclean spirits (demons), to cast them out, and to heal all kinds
of sickness and all kinds of disease. Key
point here is casting out unclean spirts that will lead to healing from
sickness and disease. This is straight
from the mouth of Jesus Himself. If we
have sickness and disease, we must cast out evil spirts to be healed. This is called the ministry of deliverance. Why does the Body of Christ fight this
concept? Is it so hard to comprehend and
believe? Apparently so, because the Body
of Christ are sick and diseased going into church and leaving sick and
diseased.
I listed a few evil spirts previously, but I want to discus two
extremely evil and damaging demons that are uncontrollable. They are anger and fear spirits. They are very, very powerful and can be uncontrollable. We must understand that each anger or fear
spirt are not singular. A person can be
angry and fearful at a multitude of people or things. Each is a separate evil spirit. Fact is fear
is a more dominate because the Bible tells us so. Fear is mentioned in the Bible 365 times as I
said earlier. Reality is, evil spirts
are waiting to bust out of you and do damage to you and others. Yes, you may keep evil spirts at bay most of
the time, but eventually they will bust out.
The frequency will increase as people allow additional evil spirits infiltrate
you. Evil spirits that will control
you if you do not do something about them.
Sin is not from God. We
know this from 2 Timouthy 1:7, For God has not given us a spirit of fear. Fear is a spirit and an evil spirit at that.
Every sin has an evil spirt or demon attached to it. We must cast every evil
spirt out of us or someone you are praying for says Jesus in Mark 16:17 And
these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out
demons. Folks, this is not an
option. Do not wait for the church,
pastors, believers, or anybody else to teach this. Identify demons and cast
them out in Jesue name.
Embrace what Jesus taught us in the Great Commission in Mark
16:15-18. This has been around for over two thousand years and we fail to
do this as Believers in Jesus Christ and God Almighty. We fail to bring people out of captivity as
we are instructed to do in Isiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon
Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has
sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, And the
opening of the prison to those who are bound.
This is not an option to ignore what God tells us to do.
