TRAUMAS
– Physical Injuries
and Emotional Hurts
Traumas as defined in the dictionary is an emotional
and/or physical stressor. A stressor in its simplest form is fear and is
a burden to one’s well-being. A trauma is the occurrence and the stressors are
the fears attached to the occurrence (trauma).
Fear definition: an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by
anticipation or awareness of danger; an instance of this emotion; a state
marked by this emotion; to be afraid of; expect with alarm. Synonyms for
fear: alarm, anxiety, dread, fearfulness, fright, horror, panic, scare, terror,
trepidation, stress, nervousness, uneasy, alarm, dread, distress, wary,
anxiety, phobia, and worry.
Fear is a spirit
and it does not come from God (“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but
of power and of love and of a sound mind,” 2 Timothy 1:7). Fear comes from Satan who seeks to destroy
you with fear.
Traumas come in
all sizes from the littlest trauma to the biggest. Each of us has had a constant lifetime
exposure to traumas of all sizes that affect our physical and emotional
well-being leading to what the medical field calls PTSD. A lifetime of fears from traumas pile up
leading to emotional sickness and physical disease. Traumas and the fears will stay with us until
we receive ministry to eradicate them.
PTSD Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a
mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying event or a series of
lessor traumatic events — either experiencing it or witnessing it. Symptoms may
include flashbacks, nightmares, insomnia, and severe anxiety (fear), as well as
uncontrollable thoughts about the event that play over and over in your mind
consuming one’s thoughts.
Physical traumas
and the resulting fear can affect every part of our body starting in one area
and spreading to other areas including muscles, tendons, ligaments, organs
(especially the brain), blood and air flow, skin disorders, itching, joint,
neck, and back pain, immune system, and nerve damage, to name a few.
Spirits of:
self-sabotage, anger, self-retaliation, bitterness, self-bitterness, hatred,
self-hatred, guilt, shame, self-condemnation, rejection, unloving, and
depression. Victim spirits: fear (as in stress, worry, panic, pressure, dread,
fright, horror, scare, terror, nervousness, tenseness, afraid, anxiety,
un-forgiveness of others, and self.
Major Physical
Traumas:
- Accidents and injuries are a
major source of traumas no matter how small.
- Physical abuse from another
person are another major source of trauma.
- Rejection by
parents, spouses, siblings, friends, church, employers, organizations,
teams, etc.
- Medical procedures and
operations.
- Sexual abuse
Major Emotional
Traumas:
- Victimization by parents’
spouses, siblings, relatives, partners, friends, jobs, bosses, government,
churches, social workers, teachers, surgeons/doctors, ER workers, organizations,
and even victimization of self where one has self-hatred, self-bitterness,
and un-forgiveness towards self.
- Rejection by parents, spouses, siblings, friends, church, employers,
organizations, teams, etc.
- Loss of job, house, spouse,
partner, friendship, or self-worth.
- Death of someone close to us.
- Exposure to ongoing traumas as a
soldier, EMT, Fire fighter, policeman, etc.
- Emotional abuse
- Spoken curses.
- Sexual abuse
- Social Media
Number one cause
of traumas: SIN!
Curses on
Disobedience – “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of
the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes
which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and
overtake you: Deuteronomy 28:15.
Disobedience as
it relates to sin. Verses 15-68 lists
sickness and disease as a result of sin and other sicknesses and diseases not
listed in the bible, Verse 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is
not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are
destroyed. Every sin can traumatize
your body and soul which is the temple of God, Do you not know that you are
the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If anyone
defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy,
which temple you are, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. Example: Cancer is a trauma to
the soul and body. So, all sickness and
diseases are traumas to your being.
Not to be
overlooked are traumas (physical and emotional abuse) perpetrated by the
previous generations and passed on to us in the form
of fear, unloving, rejection, addictions, etc. (‘The Lord is longsuffering
and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means
clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children
to the third and fourth generation’ Numbers 14:18).
In addition,
curses coming out of the mouth of any generation (especially current
generations) has a profound effect on those who have been cursed (Out of the
same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to
be so, James 3:10). Murder by the tongue does great damage. Take authority
over the generational curses. Curses are traumas. It is important
to tear down the assignment of words spoken that would give the enemy a legal
right to orchestrate circumstances causing accidents/injuries/traumas. Also,
take authority over programming in the mind (memories) created by the traumas.
Trauma Examples:
Babies in womb who are not expected or wanted.
Any trauma the mother experiences while pregnant. Fear is passed on to the child and can result
in colic.
Failure of the father or mother to show love resulting in rejection that
can stay with them through a lifetime.
Bullying
Boyfriend or girlfriend break up.
Lost job. Many lose their identity
Medical emergency and medical issues
Sport or accident concussions.
Disrespectful children, family, friends, employers, churches, and
organizations.
Cheating spouse
Addictions
Continuous anger and rage
Constant criticism and accusations.
Any hurtful spoken word can be perceived and received as trauma.
Continuous rejection
Exposure to chemicals, cigarettes, and drugs.
Divorce
The stressor (fear)
attached to a trauma is a spirit and it is imperative that the physical or
emotional stressors (fear) attached to the trauma be removed (cast out in the
name of Jesus).
There is a
mind/body connection within our being.
Traumas to your soul can cause physical and emotional issues. Traumas to your physical can cause emotional
and physical issues.
PTSD
Posttraumatic stress disorder: (PTSD) is a severe anxiety
disorder that can develop after exposure to any event that result in
psychological trauma. This event may involve the threat of death to oneself or
to someone else, or to one's own or someone else's physical, sexual, or
psychological integrity, overwhelming the individual's ability to cope. As an
effect of psychological trauma, PTSD is less frequent and more enduring than
the more commonly seen post-traumatic stress (also known as acute stress
response). Diagnostic symptoms for PTSD include re-experiencing the original
trauma through flashbacks or nightmares, avoidance of stimuli (sounds or smell
or voice) associated with the trauma, and increased arousal—such as difficulty
falling or staying asleep, anger, and hyper vigilance (experience of being
constantly tense and "on guard).
The symptoms of PTSD are a result of people focusing too
much on the circumstance, occurrence, and the situation. We ponder, contemplate, and play the trauma
over and over in our mind giving Satan great power to crush us. Instead of just glancing at the trauma and
focusing on the solution that God has already promised us to come out of it, we
open up the door of the trauma and resulting PTSD to take us in to captivity.
What
are the symptoms of PTSD? – PTSD symptoms can be
grouped into three categories:
1. Re-experiencing symptoms:
- Flashbacks—reliving
the trauma over and over, including physical symptoms like a racing heart,
sweating, or panic attacks.
- Bad dreams.
- Frightening
thoughts.
- Re-experiencing
symptoms may cause problems in a person’s everyday routine. They can start
from the person’s own thoughts and feelings. Satan can sneak in a thought
to remind you as well. Words,
objects, or situations that are reminders of the event can also trigger
re-experiencing.
2. Avoidance symptoms:
- Staying away
from places, events, or objects that are reminders of the experience
- Feeling
emotionally numb which is oppression.
- Feeling strong
guilt, depression, or worry
- Losing
interest in activities that were enjoyable in the past
- Having
trouble remembering the dangerous event.
Things that remind a person of the traumatic event can trigger avoidance
symptoms. These symptoms may cause a person to change his or her personal
routine. For example, after a bad car accident, a person who usually drives may
avoid driving or riding in a car. Can
include avoiding a person in public.
3. Hyper-arousal symptoms: a state of increased psychological and
physiological tension
- Being easily
startled
- Feeling
tense or “on edge”
- Having
difficulty sleeping, and/or having angry outbursts.
Hyper-arousal symptoms are usually constant, instead of being triggered by
things that remind one of the traumatic events. They can make the person feel
stressed and angry. These symptoms may make it hard to do daily tasks, such as
sleeping, eating, or concentrating.
It’s natural to have some of these symptoms after a dangerous event.
Sometimes people have very serious symptoms that go away after a few weeks.
This is called acute stress disorder, or ASD. When the symptoms last more than
a few weeks and become an ongoing problem, they might be PTSD. Some people with
PTSD don’t show any symptoms for weeks or months until a trigger sets PTSD in
motion. It is important to consider all
levels of traumas, small, medium, and large throughout our lives, as they all
greatly contribute to PTSD as we increase in age.
Note: The
fear from past emotional and physical traumas can trigger other fear related issues
such as panic attacks, increased heart rate, high blood pressure, upset
stomach, IBS, diarrhea, constipation, migraines, shortness of breath, blurred
vision, fatigue, confusion, dizziness, shock, anger, irritability, mood swings,
guilt, shame, condemnation, sorrow, self-pity, oppression, numbness,
self-neglect, self-hatred, rejection, self-rejection, being disconnected or
withdrawn, confusion memory issues, brain freeze, feeling lost, hopelessness
and despair, dizziness, flash backs, and unable to process the simplest of
things. Chronic sickness (such as coughing) or pain (injuries such as back pain)
is a red flag that there is trauma/PTSD
at work. These are a few and there are many more. This is classic PTSD that
comes as a result of traumas. My
position is that everyone suffers PTSD symptoms at one level or another.
Unfortunately, there are many other physical and emotional side effects
that Satan swill use to destroy you. (The thief does not come except to
steal, and to kill, and to destroy John 10:10). God comes to give us life.
Sadly, the medical field does not have the answers to bring healing to those
who have experienced traumas and the resulting PTSD. Doctors have treated PTSD with drugs that won’t
bring healing. The medical field attempts to treat symptoms with therapy
and counselling, with questionable results.
We are not seeing the success we need to bring PTSD victims out of
captivity (“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has
anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the
prison to those who are bound Isaiah 61:1).
Only God can heal, but through ministry, in the name of Jesus, and by the
power of the Holy Spirit, we can and must treat the root cause of traumas and
the resulting PTSD.
Healing of trauma in ministry:
1. Personally, I had a construction
injury to my thumb knuckle 30 years ago.
For the past thirty years my knuckle ached and had pain constantly. As I was learning about traumas six months
ago, I decided to apply what I learned. So,
in the name of Jesus, I commanded the trauma of the injury and the stressor attached
to the traumas to depart and go to the dry places. Next day, I noticed the pain was gone and it
has not returned. Any chronic issues
such as coughing, pain, etc. can have traumas and fears as a root cause.
2. Recently, we had a new member in our bible study that severe back pain
for 20 years due to an accident. We commanded the trauma and the stressor to
depart in Jesus name. Two weeks later I asked him how is back was doing since
we prayed for him. He gave us a quizzical
look, smiled, and said “I don’t have any pain.” He did not realize that his
back had been healed in the name of Jesus.
3. When person complains of lower back pain it is a sign that fear may be
the root of the pain. Fear (worry,
stress, anxiety) is a trauma and many times it causes the length of the arms
and legs to be uneven. Especially legs,
where we have seen one leg shorter by up to three inches. Most often, this is accompanied by lower back
pain or neck pain. The fear builds up
and builds up causing the tendons, muscles, and ligaments to contract and most often
the fear nests in these and other areas.
We have ministered to hundreds of people with these issues. We simple command the shorter leg or arm to
grow out the same length as the other leg or arm in the name of Jesus. Right before their eyes, they see the leg grow
out to same length as the other leg. Then,
we command the fear nesting in the back, neck or any other area to depart and
go to the dry places in the name of Jesus.
They are either healed immediately or the pain in most cases gone within
24 hours. Only a few times did it take
longer.
4. We had a lady who was victimized (traumatized) by her husband for many
years. She had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia
and struggled with this disease for years.
We proceeded to identify the roots of this disease that included,
unloving, rejection, not feeling worthy, self-rejection, unloving of self, to
name a few and cast these out in the name of Jesus. It was a long process but she is now free
from this immune disease that the medical field could not cure.
5. We had a sister in Christ who rear
ended another car and the accident caused her great fear and anxiety driving or
riding in a car. She came to our bible study and we ministered to the fear attached
to the trauma. We commanded the fear to depart from her. She could feel the
fear departing from her. We were able to
minister to her early so that it did not become a more serious problem later. She was able to overcome the accident (trauma)
that caused her great fear.
What is the root of a trauma? FEAR! Fear is a spirit and “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and
of love and of a sound mind,” 2 Timothy 1:7. Cast out the fear associated with the trauma
(occurrence) and there is healing in the name of Jesus.
It is very frustrating when believers and un-believers ignore solutions
that God gives us. God’s healing is available in His Word (Jesus) and the Holy
Spirit. Yet the vast majority have
little faith in this or other articles. They will fail to apply His promises of
healing and they will continue to suffer.
Mankind has made things very complicated because they rely on their own
understanding instead of relying on what God has shown us in His Word. Unlike mankind, God gives us uncomplicated
solutions that work. I pray that this will help you understand how traumas can
affect your life.
