Fear Not

FBC is doing a series of messages titled “Fear Not.”  One of the key notes that Pastor Jeff had for us was “Fear is not an opportunity to trust God.”  He goes on to say that Fear and Trust demand to be fulfilled.  In other words, if we are fulfilling Fear, the opportunity to trust God is hindered.

Today, it is my goal to add to this topic because of the fear that I see out in the world and especially the Fear I see in the Healing Room each Monday as we pray healing and deliverance to those that are in need.

Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) And it is impossible to please God without faith (trust). Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.  Because faith represents your future, Fear represents the destruction of your future.  As Pastor Jeff said, Trust (Faith) and Fear are equal in this dimension: both demand fulfillment.  Faith will always defeat Fear, because Faith is a work of the Holy Spirit.  Fear is the work of Satan and he uses Fear to bring destruction to our lives.

Fear will try to create your future.  It projects into the future based on your past.  It is important that you learn to put aside everything you have been exposed to that controls you and tries to create your future for you.

What you are meditating on or thinking about every day occupies your mind.  You may be meditating on the good things or you may be thinking about all the things that will go wrong in your life today and tomorrow.  The object of your fear is not only being projected into tomorrow, but also yesterday’s projected fear is here today.  Fear becomes perpetual in our lives because we failed to obey what God says in Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow…….

Today we ministered to young gentlemen who I had prayed for at intercessory prayer meeting months ago.  He asked me if I remembered praying for his stomach problems.  He said that I told him that fear may be the root cause.  His physical issues were more intense today.  The lower body was in spasm and he had issues with numbness. By questioning him, we determined that there was an open door of Fear that may have caused his physical symptoms.  Fear had become a part of his biological. He confirmed that his issues started four years ago.  We proceeded to cast out this fear and prayed healing in the name of Jesus.

We come across many possible manifestations of Fear in the Healing Room including: migraines, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, spasms, seizures, panic ridden, phobias, and PTSD to name a few.  Another is the most recognizable Fear manifestation in men and that is high blood pressure which man has renamed worry, stress, and anxiety.  Let’s call it what it is, FEAR!

How about the mere presence of a person who you fear causes you to have diarrhea or cause you to panic?    How many times have you avoided a person because they cause you fear manifestations?

We have been taught to be intellectually and spiritually superior, but we have not been taught how to defeat our enemy.  We can go on for hours teaching about Fear, but we must know how to defeat Fear.  Fear is a spirit and The Great Commission in Mark 16:17, Jesus instructs us to cast out these spirts in His name.  Yet, we fail to do this.  We allow Fear to come in numerous times on a given and day and we do nothing because we fail to exercise our power and authority in the name of Jesus Christ.

A few weeks ago as I was reading and meditating in the Bible, I received the word “Encumber” as it relates to sin.  It means to weigh down, or to be a burden.  It also means to impede or hamper a function or activity.   Fear or any sin hampers our relationship with God.  If we are deep in bondage to sin, we can’t expect to have the opportunity to trust or have faith in God.

The antidote to Fear is very simple.  Trust God.  Fear is an antichrist sprit because it says you cannot trust God.  It says evil is more powerful than God.

The Word is Jesus Christ, a living being, but the defeat of your enemy with the Word can only be fruitful if you believe (trust) and make it a part of your life.  You have to become one with God:  His nature and your nature have to become one in that area of your life.  To become one with the Word is to know what the living being, Jesus Christ, has said as revealed in the Scriptures and believe it.

Hebrews 4:12 (Amplified Bible) For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

It is my prayer that you trust God as you overcome the Fears in your life. Psalm 56:4 In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?

Forgiveness

Forgive Them and Love Them

Do we really know to what measure we must forgive?  I can say I have forgiven somebody, but have I really forgiven them and do I really know how to forgive?  I had to ask myself this question many times.

My father was not a nice person and he made life miserable for me, our family, and any other person that became a part of his life.  I labeled him a terrorist before the word became popular. I remember as a kid in high school I would avoid seeing him for months at a time even though we lived in the same house.  We had a side entrance and I knew his schedule so it was easy to plan how not to see him.

He died six years ago without ever saying the words “I love you” to me.  I can’t remember a time that I truly loved my dad.  So, it was a relief for me not to have to face him anymore and the fear he brought to my life. Through it all, I had emptiness in my heart.

As I go around talking with people I hear their stories on how they have forgiven a person.  It goes something like this: “I have forgiven John, but……I have forgiven Jane, but…….”  I interrupt them immediately and tell them that there is no “but” in forgiveness.  What they are telling me is that they still have that ping of un-forgiveness whenever that person comes into remembrance. You may have forgiven them once, but you may have to forgive them over and over again as it says in Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.  Symbolically, we have to forgive over and over even if it exceeds seventy times seven.

Being a believer in God, I had to forgive my Dad and even though he is dead.  I had to understand how his sin affected his life and the lives of others, but God still loved him just as much God loves me.  My Dad just did not know how to love because he was not taught the love of our Heavenly Father.  Once I was able to separate his sin from the person God created and loved, I was able to bring about healing in my life.

I want to share with you what the Lord showed me. I already knew how to forgive my Dad when thoughts of his offenses come to mind even to this day.  Somehow this was not working for me because I did not feel at peace because I did not love my Dad.  It is only when I started this process of confession that the healing became complete.  I pray this short prayer out loud confessing my forgiveness for my dad and confessing out lout how much I love him.

Father God, I forgive _________ for all their offenses towards me.  Father God, I love ______ who you created in love.

What we say can be a blessing or a curse.  Our verbal confession of forgiveness and our verbal confession of love for those who have offended us is a blessing not only for the person but for us.

Shout out to the Lord your confession of forgiveness and love for the person who has offended you so that God will forgive you.

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.  Matthew 6:14-15

‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (As the Lord loves you)  Matthew 22:39

I pray the love from our Heavenly Father helps you overcome any un-forgiveness so that there is healing in your life.

Great Commission

After Jesus Christ's death on the cross, he was buried and resurrected on the third day. Before he ascended into heaven, He appeared to his disciples in Galilee, and gave them instructions that apply to all disciples of Jesus Christ until His Second Coming.  Understand the significance of these last instructions by Jesus Christ.  These instructions were given to us to teach others about the Bible and to equip us for the spiritual war at hand until His Second Coming.  These instructions were not an option for His disciple or the disciples throughout history to this current age.  Jesus expected all disciples (all Believers) to carry out The Great Commission in its entirety. The question we should ask is:  Why is this not one of the central teachings in the church today?

It is my goal to go verse by verse to explain what The Great Commission means to me.  In particular, I would like to try and explain the first part of Mark 16: 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them….. I have yet to hear a conclusive explanation of this verse.

Most references to The Great Commission that we hear most often is from Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The Scripture that I want to reference is in Mark 16 which is a more complete and detailed.

Mark 16:15-18 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  This appears to be instructions that should be easy to carry out. Unfortunately, to preach the gospel we need to read the gospel and this is not happening.

Surveys indicate that most Believers do not read the Bible consistently. The 2013 Barna Group survey showed the Bible is still firmly rooted in American soil: 88 percent of respondents said they own a Bible, 80 percent think the Bible is sacred, 61 percent wish they read the Bible more, the average household has 4.4 Bibles, and only 20% read their Bible on a regular basis.   Fewer yet read their Bible every day.  If we don’t know His Word, how can we know GOD in order to preach the gospel?

Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  I think the central point here is if we believe or not.  Some will argue if we are saved we don’t necessary need to be baptized.  This verse is not about being saved.  It’s about believing. This verse does not specify whether it is water baptism or baptism of the Holy Spirit.  We must look at Mark 1:9-10 It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.  10 And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove to know that it included both.  Jesus was water baptized by John the Baptist, but it is important to look at the context of The Great Commission and understand the significance of being baptized by the Holy Spirit and praying in the Spirit as it applies in verse 17 which is an essential part of The Great Commission and will be discussed later.

We are to imitate the ministry of Jesus because He is the essence of what we are to do in the Great Commission. Jesus was water baptized, the Spirit of God descended on Him, and Jesus started His ministry that is mirrored in His instructions to His disciples.  Failure to believe and be baptized will result in condemnation.

Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.  Signs” are a mark by which persons or things are distinguished and made known. In Scripture used generally of an address to the senses to attest the existence of supersensible (being above or beyond that which is apparent to the senses: spiritual) and therefore divine power. The plagues of Egypt were "signs" of divine displeasure against the Egyptians (Exodus 4:8; Joshua 24:17); and the miracles of Jesus were "signs" to attest His unique relationship with God (Matthew 12:38 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you; John 2:18 So the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?”;  Acts 2:22 Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know ). Naturally, therefore, both in the Old Testament and the New Testament, "signs" are compared to the miraculous, and prevailingly associated with immediate divine interference.  So, “signs” is a precursor (something that comes before something else that leads to or influences its development) to the rest of the verse.

In My name is the authority and power given to all Believers.  Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick (Luke 9:1-2).

The Lord Jesus Christ has given Believers all authority and power on this earth in His name!  John 14:13 states, "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask anything in His name, He will do it!  He gave you all His power and authority to be released on this earth in His name.  And if that is not enough He gave you access to the Father God Almighty's power through the name of Jesus!  And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full (John 16:23-24).

They will cast out demons.”  Jesus sent us forth into the world as He was sent fourth (John 20:21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”) and He gave us the authority to do the work at hand (Mark 13:34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch).

Luke 10:17-19, "And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power (translates to AUTHORITY) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Every believer have authority over demons because we are all seated with Christ in the heavenly realm (Ephesians 2:6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus), which means we are above the demons in rank of authority!

As believers, we have been given authority in Jesus' name to drive out demons. We access our authority through faith and exercise our authority with a spoken command directed at the unclean spirit.  Paul clearly demonstrates this in Acts 16:18 “But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.  It is very important to understand Jesus commanded demons to leave and Paul has done the same.  He imitated Jesus.  We don’t have to ask God to cast out demons.  In the name of Jesus we are instructed to cast out demons.

they will speak with new tongues.”  In the context of this verse, we must remember that this is a spiritual warfare verse. The devil knows that praying in tongues is the only way you can pray beyond your human ability. It is the tool God has given us to tap into the mind of the Holy Spirit. When we pray in tongues, we activate the Holy Spirit. He begins to enlighten the eyes of our understanding. Paul wants us to follow his Godly example as he writes in 1 Corinthians 14:5, "I wish you all spoke with tongues".

Speaking in tongues increases our faith and allows us to pray more accurately.  It necessary to understand the spiritual battle we are in as Paul taught in Ephesians 6. He wrote in V. 12:  “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Continuing in verses 13-17, he explained the various weapons of our warfare such as faith, the word of God, etc.  Then, he completed this teaching with v. 18, ". . . praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit."  Prayer is listed as one of the tools we use to defeat Satan!  Notice Paul says to use “all prayer and supplication” (all forms or types of prayer) and then adds “in the Spirit.”  By “rightly dividing the Word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15) we have learned that praying in tongues is essential in spiritual warfare as we cast out demons.

As a side bar, the people that are in deliverance ministry can experience attacks by the enemy while they are ministering to people.  Speaking in tongues when you can’t minister in a regular prayer language is a necessity. Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us  with groanings which cannot be uttered.  Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

1 Cor. 14:15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding.

Jude  20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit).

they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them;  As I alluded to earlier, I have yet to hear a definitive explanation of this verse.  Many have applied Acts 28:3-6 But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand.  So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god to this verse.  I am not convinced this should be a consideration.  To understand this verse, we must take into consideration the context of this verse as it applies to the Great Commission and spiritual warfare. We must look at this verse in a symbolic way and not a literal way.

The Great Commission is to be carried out by all believers. How many believers will take up serpents in real life and in the physical?  Therefore, we need to search Scriptures to identify who the serpents we will be exposed to. The serpent first surfaced in Genesis 3 as the serpent came to tempt Adam and Eve. We are warned of this serpent in 2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.  Again, we are reminded who the serpent is in Revelation 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.  The serpent is the devil and we are to “take up serpents.”   Serpents are referred here as the demonic.

and if they drink anything deadly,  it will by no means hurt them

Again, we must look at this symbolically.  and if they drink anything deadly, suggests that if we are exposed to the demonic, “it will by no means hurt thembecause we have power and authority over these serpents. Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

We see here in the context of this verse that if we in Jesus name can take on serpents and be exposed to them and not be hurt, we are now in position with God’s authority and power to “lay hands on the sick,” pray, “and they will recover.”  The book of James further supports this in 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord and in Luke 9:2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.  The laying on of hands is one of the conduits through which the healing power of God flows. When the believer lays hands on someone in this context of healing, it imparts (in the name of Jesus), the supernatural healing power of God to the person on whom hands are laid.

This piece on the Great Commission was a serious undertaking for me.  It has given me a clear understanding of what Jesus Christ has called us to do as Believers.  Can you imagine how much better off we would be if everyone obeyed and carried out The Great Commission?

I pray that this will bless you and convict you as it has blessed me and further convicted me.

In Jesus Name,

God's Order For The Family

Greetings,
I pray that everyone is doing well.  Please….I hope you invest time to read God’s Order in the Family that I put together, as it can change your life and the life of your family.
First, I want to share with you a short story from the Healing Room Ministry at Faith Bible Chapel.  We had a 14 year old girl that came in with extremely painful migraine headaches.  She had been in a couple of times previously was healed of a blurry eye problem.  I reviewed the notes in her profile and what the teams prayed about previously.  I could see that the team was praying for the symptoms that were manifesting in the physical like headaches and such.  Being such a young girl and experiencing migraines, my immediate thoughts were that she had some sort of fear in her life that may have triggered her migraines.  Maybe some sort of trauma.  I asked her if she was in fear of something or if she had any trauma in her life.  Her answer was no.  Her father interrupted our conversation to say that she indeed had a severe head injury as a two year old and at the age of 13 had a concussion from skiing.  There it was.  She had a trauma that quite possible could have been an open door for fear to enter into this child.  We proceeded to command those two spirits of trauma/fears away and prayed healing  from the damage done and prayed healing of the migraines.  We believe that God healed her that night and hope to hear the praise report in the future.  Praise God.
God’s Order in the Family
It is my intention to bring to light the importance of God’s order in the family.  It is a subject that is very rarely taught and it is unfortunate that we don’t fully realize and understand the consequences of not having Godly order in the family.  Compromising Godly order has been catastrophic to our families resulting in dysfunctional families.  Family members suffer from rejection, unloving, anger, un-forgiveness, bitterness, hate, and self-hatred, hopelessness which have manifested into sickness and disease from a compromised immune system in many cases.
In God's plan men and women were made for different roles. God first created Adam and gave him the responsibility to work and keep the Garden. (Gen. 2:15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.) Genesis 2:18 says that God made Eve and she was created to be a "helper" for man. Her position in reference to man is defined as first "a helper," literally, to "help" Adam in fulfilling his responsibilities in the Garden.  God gave that responsibility to Eve.  If Adam was to achieve his God directed objectives in life, he needed the help of his mate.  In the creation of Eve, God set forth His plan for the role of women. God's plan was to have Eve be at Adam's side in every way, from having offspring to being Adam's partner in all that was needed for him to carry out his obligations.  Eve was the needed part of Adam, making him complete in agreeing with him mentally, physically, spiritually. She was not made as an inferior being in any degree, but was made for a different and equally important role and purpose in life.
Adam upon seeing Eve and receiving her said that Eve was "bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh" (Genesis 2:23) recognizing that had God created her from him (Genesis 2:22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man).  Adam made a marriage commitment and God instructed man to leave our parents and be "joined" to his wife and they would be one flesh (Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh Genesis 2:24).  This statement showed commitment and established the proper bound between them being devoted to each other. In other words they would function as a unit in union.  Adam understood his responsibility and in initiating the marriage performed his duty as being the one responsible in the union. Thus, the first recorded statement of Adam was to demonstrate his leadership and responsibility to the woman in that he made a vow of commitment and he gave Eve her name (Genesis 3:20). This set the example for the future human race and God has not changed His plan.
In Genesis 2, God established the family.  God is a God of order and He set the organization of the family in its creation. Any organization must have the roles of its members clearly defined to be able to function and support the organization. God gave the man the responsibility to be the head of the family in providing provision and leadership. The woman's role in the family is as vital and important as the man's in her domain as wife and mother.  She brings that special ability to provide love, nurturing, compassion and protection to the children and a close partnership with the husband.
God created Adam and Eve in perfect harmony and that continued without conflict until Adam and Eve disobeyed God and brought sin into the world. This began the problem man and woman not accepting or fulfilling their God given roles. Sin manifested itself in sinful pride and distorted this perfect union. Eve negated Adam's responsibility in leadership and listened to Satan instead of her husband. She apparently was easily deceived and she decided to eat of the fruit of the forbidden tree (Genesis 3:6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate…).  Eve then gave the fruit to Adam (Genesis 3:6…She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate) who relinquished his leadership role to Eve and plunged the human race into sin.
Sin degraded the man's and woman's roles coming from the carnal nature and pride of mankind. The biblical example affirms that men are to be the leaders in the home, church, and state. Women were not created to rule these divine institutions, because God gave that responsibility to the man. The prophet Isaiah was condemning Israel when he said they had allowed women ruled over them (Isaiah 3:12 As for My people, children are their oppressors, And women rule over them. O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths”).
This distortion of God's truth, looking through carnal eyes, fails to see that God never in any way degraded a woman, but made her of equal importance in the marriage union. Man is not the woman's master, but rather her provider and leader. The truth is there can be no union or true biblical marriage without the man and the woman functioning biblically in each of their distinctive roles. If the man abdicates his role of being its spiritual leader, loving husband/father, and providing for his family, the family falls into serious trouble.  (As a side note, it is especially critical that he conveys the love of God the Father to his wife and children).  The same applies to the woman who tries step into the role of the man. In either case the family as God created and structured it, is severely weaken or destroyed. Further, the same principle applies in a local church when the man does not provide the leadership and when woman step out of their God given roles and seek to rule over men. When this happens in a church the organization and structure of the church is out of order and sets an unbiblical example for the families of that church. This is why it is so important for a church to present a proper and biblical example of God's instructions to its members, their families and the world around them.
We have established the Biblical principle in Godly order in the family.  So, the next question is: How did we go wrong and why are families in shambles?  Although there were many contributing factors, I would like to discuss two and they involve experiences of the families in the fifties and sixties.  Life and our needs were rather simple back then.  Fathers went to work and mothers stayed home with the children.  Houses were small and a three foot closet in the bedrooms was sufficient to hold clothes.
It was towards the end of the sixties and early seventies, the women’s movement started and one of the primary women involved in this was Gloria Steinem.  Gloria was behind the feminist movement advocated a collection of movements and ideologies armed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, cultural and social rights for women.  A feminist advocates or supports the rights and equality of women.  In other words, they wanted equal footing with men in opportunities and the decision making.  This movement does not seem significant now, but it was during a period of time where the baby boomers were open to new ways of thinking that affected God’s order in the family that had a trickle down affect to this day.
As we can now see, men have given into this ideology without truly understanding how and why this has affected our families.  Satan has come in and defiled the order in our families and he is doing to us what he did to Adam and Eve in Genesis.  He lied to them, has lied to us, and it has caused brokenness in our families.
Starting in the sixties and seventies all the way to this present age, our culture has promoted bigger and better. The ads are everywhere.  You are measured on what you have.  We wanted bigger cars, bigger houses, expensive vacations, toys, entertainment, etc.  We wanted to keep up with our neighbors so we went in debt to buy more when it clearly says in the Bible You shall not covet your neighbor’s house…Exodus 20:17
Soon, the wife had to go to work to support the family.  To do this, the family put the children in day care centers.  During this time there was also a shift of responsibility from the father to mother.  Even when the mother was not working, a great deal of responsibility was on the women in the decision making.  Father would come home from a hard day at work and he would sit down and watch television.  He would play sports with the guys on weekends or hang out with the guys.  All the while the women had no other choice but to control the household.  The children would naturally go to the mother for any questions they would have.  In essence, the man had checked out. The Father was not there to provide order in most cases. The fatherly love that the wives and children need so desperately was and is absent resulting in rejection and feeling unloved.  How do I know this?  I see the absence of the father in the adult children’s lives almost every week at the Healing Room ministry that I am a part of.  I see it in our family and all the way back through the generations.  I am not saying that all fathers have checked out, but it is quite evident today that there is a severe problem.  Ask a child in today’s culture and they will say that they go to the mother for most things.  In other words, the mother is the decision maker in far too many households.
Godly order in the family has been compromised.  Dad has given control to the mother if she is not working.  The working father and mother have given control to the day care facility.  We are in complete violation of God’s order and we can’t understand why the family is in shambles?  Godly family order is one of the first things in the Bible that God laid out to mankind.  This is a curse of the family and the generations.
So how do we correct this and break the curse?  First of all, it is not complicated.  We as husbands and wives must acknowledge that we have not followed God’s order for the family.  Next we must confess our sin not only for ourselves as husband and wife but for the past generations for not having Godly order in the family.
Does it work? Absolutely!  How do I know?  Because we have experienced break through on a number of issues with son, daughter, and granddaughter recently.  Breaches have begun to be repaired and relationships are being restored.
Ultimately, who is to blame for this un-Godly order in my house?  I must take full responsibility because I failed to take on the role of leader as defined by God in Genesis.   I have confessed my sin and asked God for forgiveness.  Ignorance is not an excuse for us gentlemen.  We must repent and ask God for forgiveness.
Women, I ask that you do as my wife did in confessing that she too did not following God’s order for the family and asked God to forgive her as well.
I think you will agree that Godly order in the family is very important.  Our body, mind (soul), and spirit are greatly affected as well when we don’t have Godly order.  When we don’t have Godly order, we are not in balance or agreement with God and with that we can have chaos reigning in our family throughout the generations.  So, when we are out of order with God and the family, everything is out of order including our physical and mental health.
With that being said I want to discuss the subject of Neurotransmitters. The information I am going to share from a science prospective may allow insight into your life and lives of others especially as it relates or links to our physical and mental health.  How we think, speak, and act affects our physical as I discussed in the opening paragraph.  Perhaps we can have a better understanding of our sickness and disease if we look at the root cause of sickness and disease.
NEUROTRANSMITTERS are the brain chemicals that communicate information throughout our brain and body.  They relay signals between nerve cells, called “neurons.”  The brain uses neurotransmitters to tell your heart to beat, your lungs to breathe, and your stomach to digest.  They can also affect mood, sleep, concentration, weight, and can cause adverse symptoms when they are out of balance. Neurotransmitter levels can be depleted many ways.  As a matter of fact, it is estimated that 86% of Americans have suboptimal neurotransmitter levels.  Stress (Fear), poor diet, neurotoxins, genetic predisposition, drugs (prescription and recreational), alcohol and caffeine usage can cause these levels to be out of optimal range.
There are two kinds of neurotransmitters – INHIBITORY and EXCITATORY.  Excitatory neurotransmitters are not necessarily exciting – they are what stimulate the brain.  Those that calm the brain and help create balance are called inhibitory.  Inhibitory neurotransmitters balance mood and are easily depleted when the excitatory neurotransmitters are overactive.
Inhibitory Neurotransmitters
SEROTONIN is an inhibitory neurotransmitter – which means that it does not stimulate the brain.  Adequate amounts of serotonin are necessary for a stable mood and to balance any excessive excitatory (stimulating) neurotransmitter firing in the brain.  If you use stimulant medications or caffeine in your daily regimen – it can cause a depletion of serotonin over time.  Serotonin also regulates many other processes such as carbohydrate cravings, sleep cycle, pain control and appropriate digestion.  Low serotonin levels are also associated with decreased immune system function.  Depression causes the Serotonin levels to fall and doctors prescribe Serotonin (Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft )  to bring up the levels.
GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that is often referred to as “nature’s VALIUM-like substance”.  When GABA is out of range (high or low excretion values), it is likely that an excitatory neurotransmitter is firing too often in the brain.  GABA will be sent out to attempt to balance this stimulating over-firing.
DOPAMINE is a special neurotransmitter because it is considered to be both excitatory and inhibitory.  Dopamine helps with depression as well as focus, which you will read about in the excitatory section.
Excitatory Neurotransmitters
DOPAMINE is our main focus neurotransmitter.  When dopamine is either elevated or low – we can have focus issues such as not remembering where we put our keys, forgetting what a paragraph said when we just finished reading it or simply daydreaming and not being able to stay on task.  Dopamine is also responsible for our drive or desire to get things done – or motivation.  Stimulants such as medications for ADD/ADHD (Concerta, Adderall, Ritalin) and caffeine cause dopamine to be pushed into the synapse so that focus is improved.  Unfortunately, stimulating dopamine consistently can cause a depletion of dopamine over time.
NOREPINEPHRINE is an excitatory neurotransmitter that is responsible for stimulatory processes in the body.  Norepinephrine helps to make epinephrine as well.  This neurotransmitter can cause ANXIETY (Fear) at elevated excretion levels as well as some “MOOD DAMPENING” effects.  Low levels of norepinephrine are associated with LOW ENERGY, DECREASED FOCUS ability and sleep cycle problems.
EPINEPHRINE is an excitatory neurotransmitter that is reflective of stress (FEAR).  This neurotransmitter will often be elevated when ADHD like symptoms are present.  Long term STRESS (Fear) or INSOMNIA can cause epinephrine levels to be depleted (low).  Epinephrine also regulates HEART RATE and BLOOD PRESSURE.
It is my prayer that you truly understand how important God’s order is for your family and that you implement His order in your family to ward off curses, sickness and disease.

Prophesy

Warning in the Last Days 10-18-14

I’m sure you all recall a word that I received and sent out to you all on October 14th (see previous blog) regarding the last days.  That following Saturday (18th) I received another word that is tied to this during Saturday service at FBC.  I received it in two parts.  The first part was during the praise part of the service and the second part during the sermon.

Confirmation in one form or another seems to follow prophesy if we are patient to receive.  In this case it came from Scripture days later from my wife.  Again, I am hesitant to share, as I don’t want to appear as anyone that is special or important in this world.  My goal is to be obedient to God and do what He expects us to do in this world as we wait for the glorious coming of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Part 1:  In the last days, we are to seek out those who are strong in the Lord (You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also 2 Timothy 2:1-2) , who know about the invisible world, who know about the dark kingdom and their devices , and who know their authority and power in the name of Jesus Christ against Satan and his army.

Part 2:  In the last days, evil will rise up to an incredibly high level.  Consequently, God will raise a remnant (elect 2 Timothy 2:10) up to a higher level for the benefit of those who truly believe.

2 Timothy 2:3-4 You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.  No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

2 Timothy 2:7-11Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained.  Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

2 Timothy 2:11-13 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him.  If we deny Him,  He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

In Jesus Name,

Prophesy - Warning

10-11-14

About three or four weeks I ago I received a word and recently I shared it with my wife.  It goes something like this: In these last days, there will be a wickedness so evil that mankind will not be able to comprehend it because mankind has not seen or experienced it in this present age. Nor will they know how to battle it because we are not prepared.

This past week, I received an email encouraging me to view a couple of telecasts on 9-19 and 9-23 from Rick Joyner at http://www.morningstarministries.org/. Rick is not someone that I was aware of.  Perhaps I seen one of his books, but I did not have any knowledge of him.  The subject matter is about dreams he received regarding an attack from an evil and demonic force working through a group coming in through our southern borders.  This demonic force is so evil and ruthless that ISIS cannot compare.  Rick said that this supernatural evil is from the pit of hell.  As a side bar, El Chapo Guzman who was the head of a huge drug cartel, exhibited extreme ruthless behavior.  I mention this because of the high level demonic presence originating in Mexico and other places in the last days.  Their behavior is similar to ISIS and we have not seen the worst.

I was not open to sharing what I received until I viewed these two videos from Rick Joyner.  His dream was confirmation of what I received.  I mean, who am I that I should share?  I am nobody special in this world, but I have a responsibility to warn people what I have received and Rick Joyner deemed it necessary to do the same.

The purpose of this writing is twofold.  One is to warn.  The second is to answer questions below from the person who sent me the original email about Rick Joyner:  How will you handle it? Walking in the Spirit, prayer, fasting? Don't want to bother you, but I need to know

There is only one way to answer these questions and to understand what we need to combat these evil forces in the end times.  We have to rely on God.

First, we must repent of our sins and ask God to forgive us each and every day.  We must do everything in our power to obey His commandments, precepts, statutes and principles.

Developing a high level relationship with God through His Word.  John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.  Without His word, we cannot possible be equipped to battle the enemy.

We truly have to spend as much of our free time in His word as possible and it has to be every day.  We become more in tune with God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit when we do so. It is imperative to put aside time consuming fleshly activities that keep us away from His Word.  Reading His word will result in, revelation, prophesy, wisdom, knowledge, discernment, answers to our questions, and much more.

Knowing our authority In Jesus Christ.  Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.  Believing this and applying it is paramount in disarming demonic forces.  Colossians 2:15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Knowing where our power comes from.  We have authority in Jesus name.  The power comes from the Holy Spirit just as when Jesus came up from the water.  Mark 1:10 And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. It was after Jesus received the Holy Spirit that He was able to start His ministry of sharing the Gospel and performing a multitude of miracles.  The same power we need until His second coming.

Operating the Holy Spirit is vital to our Christian walk.  When we are walking in the Spirit, we are not walking in the flesh, as they are contrary to each other (Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish).  How do we operate in the Spirit?  We pray always and continuously in the Spirit throughout the day (Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints).  We invite the Holy Spirt to be present.  We ask the Holy Spirit to indwell in us.  We call on the Holy Spirit to help us, for He is our Helper God sent to us when Jesus went to be with the Father (John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you).

Knowing the benefits of prayer and fasting.  This is extremely important and Jesus reminded us that these extremely demonic entities can only be dealt with by prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting”).

Why fast?  Stated simply, biblical fasting is refraining from food for a spiritual purpose.  When you eliminate food from you diet for a number days, you spirit becomes uncluttered by the things of this world and is amazingly sensitive to the things of God.  Fasting brings one into a deeper, more intimate and powerful relationship with the Lord.

Jesus speaks about the need for fasting once he leaves.  John 5:35 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days.”

Throughout the Bible there are many men and women of God who have fasted and the end result was breakthrough.  Moses fasted 40 days (Deuteronomy 9:18. Ezra proclaimed a fast (Ezra 8:21). Children of Israel fasted (Nehemiah 9:1). David fasted (2 Samuel 1:2, Psalms 35:3, and Psalms 109:24). Ester fasted (Ester 4:16). Anna fasted (Luke 2:37). Married couples should fast (Luke 7:5) Paul fasted (Luke 9:9). Cornelius fasted (Acts 10:30). Jesus teaches fasting (Matthew 6:16-18.

To better understand fasting I recommend the book “Fasting” by Jentezen Franklin.

Unfortunately, the Body of Christ are not fasting people and the Church does not encourage fasting as a regular part of their doctrine which is contrary to the Word of God.

To emphasize: Fasting is repeated referred to throughout Scripture as a sacrificial form of prayer warfare that produces results available in on other way.  This especially emphasized in the demonic deliverance in Christ’s day Mark 9:14-29. Fasting involves a sacrificial denial of necessary nourishment while turning one’s attention to seeking God during that denial.

In conclusion, these points are not inclusive, but what is listed can be a good resource as we engage in the spiritual battle against evil in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 21:36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

It is my prayer that we all prepare wholeheartedly for the coming of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

May God be with you all,

Tony Sanchez

Spirit of Bitterness

Greetings,

As I have recently shared, I am a part of a ministry called the Healing Room.  In this ministry we come across many that have un-forgiveness as result of an offense.  One women in particular had such a high level of un-forgiveness that she had huge difficulty getting the words out as we led her to forgive and say the words “I forgive Sally.”  She had been severely hurt by this women, but she chose to forgive.

I would like to resend this piece I put together a couple of years ago that will give a better understanding of what leads to un-forgiveness and what the end result can be.  We all have had to deal with un-forgiveness in the past and we will have to deal with it now and in the future.  Please take time to read.

Offenses Leads Us To Bitterness

Definition of OFFENSE: 1. An act of stumbling, a cause or occasion of sin, stumbling block. 2. Something that outrages the moral or physical senses. 3. The act of attacking, assault. 4 The act of displeasing or insulting, the state of being insulted or morally outraged, takes offense at the slightest criticism. 5 breach of a moral or social code, sin, and misdeed

Matthew 18:7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! (New Century Version - Matthew 18:7 How terrible for the people of the world because of the things that cause them to sin. Such things will happen, but how terrible for the one who causes them to happen!)

As I observe people, I have realized how so many are hurt due to offenses.  You can see the different stages of hurt that has manifested on their faces or in their demeanor. The offenses almost always results in rejection.  We take offense because we believe what man says or does to us despite the fact that God is very clear on who we should trust. Psalm 7:1 O LORD my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me.  Psalm 56:11 In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?  Man cannot do anything to you unless you open the door for him to do so.  Man offends by criticism, judging, accusations (charges against you) blame, slander, backbiting, gossip, etc.

How do we open the door to torment and destruction when we are offended or when we offend?  Before we go any further, I want to give you a list that is a result of offenses and I want to ask you to meditate on these and tell me which one is the strongman.  This strongman will allow the rest to manifest and is the general over the rest.

Bitterness….Unforgiveness….Resentment....Retaliation….Anger/Wrath….Hatred….Volience….Murder….

If you picked Murder, you are incorrect.  Murder is the end result.  We have to identify the one in control once we opened the door due to the offense.  Bitterness is the strongman.  Bitterness initiates the process that can result in murder or will leave you in bondage somewhere in between Bitterness and Murder.

Bitterness - Hebrews 12:15 Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled.   Bitterness corrodes like acid, eating away at our soul.  It poisons the mind first and then the body.  It is often marked by cynicism and animosity toward others.  Bitterness is a strong man kept in place by several underlings.  Each underling is given entry into our lives by the one preceding it.  The severity of the evilness of each underlings gets progressively worse.  Bitterness is a strongman and he seeks a place to live.  You are the palace and he wants to be in your house and once you let him in, he will bring others to torment you.  He is the general and he has an army that he will try bring in and destroy you.

Un-forgiveness - Something has been done to you and there is a spirit assigned to you.  What is the first thing that comes to you when someone wrongs you?  Un-forgiveness.  Bitterness is the strongman and the first armor he trusts in is Un-forgiveness.  Un-forgiveness is now part of your life and your will not have forgiveness if you give a place and habitation for Un-forgiveness.

What Bitterness is banking on is you remembering a record of wrongs.  He is banking on the spirit of Un-forgiveness reminding you of Bitterness someone has against you.  The task of Un-forgiveness is to remind you, rehash it, bring it up, project it, and torment you with it.  Un-forgiveness will replay the words, the voices, the sights, and the sounds.  Un-forgiveness will flash at you everything others have ever said over and over again to reinforce itself so the strongman of Bitterness can stay.

Resentment – The strongman now sends out another spirit to reinforce Un-forgiveness.  Resentment stands on the foundation of Un-forgiveness.  The record of wrongs is now fermenting and Resentment fuels the fermentation of Un-forgiveness.

Resentment defiles you by saying “You know what?  I really don’t like you.  I resent you. I’m never going to forgive you.”  Bitterness is trusting the spirit of Un-forgiveness to stay with you and add fuel to the fire. He is trusting that Resentment will get a foothold for more torment and control.

Retaliation – “I’m going to get even.  You’re going to pay.  I remember what you did to me and you better watch your back.”  The spirit of Retaliation is much more dangerous than Un-forgiveness and Resentment.  After Resentment has started to simmer, we find ways to get back at the person who caused it.  We do this in many ways and one of the most common is slandering of the person.  You will express your criticism to anyone who will listen.  You want to be heard and you want someone to agree with you and when they don’t, you go to the next person.

Anger and Wrath – After Retaliation gets a foot hold, anger starts to set in.  Un-forgiveness, Resentment and Retaliation have been building and now a strong feeling of anger comes along.  Un-forgiveness and Resentment can be hidden skillfully by someone who is deceptive.  Retaliation can be hidden, but Anger starts to show physically.  Family, friends, coworkers, see this manifestation of anger in your face and demeanor.  It is a very uncomfortable for people to coexist with a person with anger and wrath.

Anger and Wrath never occur unless these three, Un-forgiveness, Resentment and Retaliation have been festering for some time.  You get angry for a reason.  The reason is because of the breach, because of the hurt, because of the victimization, and they that their anger is justified.

Retaliation may seem worse than Anger, but this is the fermenting stage.  Retaliation sets the stage to eliminate, but you will not eliminate anyone unless you have Anger and Wrath working within the spiritual dynamics of this principality and the spirits that create and answer to it.

We are dealing with Anger coming out of a relationship.  This is the Anger and Wrath tied to Bitterness.  This is a progression of spiritual dynamics producing the elimination of a person in a relationship.  It is the root behind all people who murdered someone and are in prison.  It is the root behind all family splits, behind all division, and behind all break up of human relationships.

Hatred – After Anger and Wrath has gained their foothold, Hatred comes.  Hatred not only has the root of Bitterness, but is being fueled by all the previous.  Now begins the stage of elimination.

Hatred says this: “I exist on the planet and you do too, and one of us has to go and it will not be me.  I hate you, I can’t stand you.  I resent you, I am going to get even because you don’t belong on this planet.”  Hatred involves the elimination of the other person.  Retaliation was the fermenting stage of this.  Anger started to vocalize it and now Hatred comes to help execute it.

Bitter ness is banking on the fact when you are ready to forgive, old Un-forgiveness will pull up a flash card of memories reminding you of what they did to you.

Violence – You can see Violence every day in families and the news is a constant reminder how bad it is getting.  This is the progression of breakup of human relationships out of Bitterness.  Bitterness is behind all domestic Violence and all juvenile Violence.

Violence is what puts people in jail and this is why we have a police force.  Violence is Anger and Hatred in motion because it is not just emotional and spiritual anymore, it has now become physical.

At this level, people will hate you so much; they will want to punch your lights out physically or verbally.  Bitterness is banking on the fact that this progression in your life is going to keep him in place and these spirits are able to generate their nature in you and also in others to fuel this thing back and forth.

Murder – The seventh and final spirit that competes the full plan of the devil for destruction originating from the strongman of Bitterness (Hebrews 12:15) is the spirit of Murder.

This can actually be physical murder, or murder with the tongue, which is character assassination.  When hatred, violence and murder are in someone’s life, they feel they are justified and everybody else is going to pay the price.  Have you been a victim of this?  Did you feel defiled?  Have you victimized someone else on this basis?

Beware – If any one of these seven spirits answering to bitterness exists, all of the preceding spirits will be there.  If left unchecked, all the rest will surely come.  For example, if you see Hatred in a person, Un-forgiveness, Resentment, Retaliation and Anger always precedes Hatred.  Each of the seven is progressively worse than the one just preceding it.  You are a target of the strongman of Bitterness and you don’t want him to set up his throne within your life.

Resolution – In order to defeat the strongman of Bitterness, you need to understand how his armor works.  You have to understand the Bitterness armor in your life so that so that Bitterness can be dealt with and you can be set free.  If you have been offended by someone or you have offended someone, the breach needs to be repaired with that person if at all possible.  If it is not possible, you can still be free by the power of God through Jesus Christ whether there is any resolution with that person who created the breach or not.

We are going to get offended as we go through life.   The key is don’t hold the offense captive (….bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5).  When someone says or does something that makes you feel a “ping of hurt,” recognize that “ping of hurt” as an offense.  This is especially important for people who have a long history of rejection in their lives.  They tend to take anything that someone says as rejection and therefore, is an offense to them.  Immediately renounce the words or actions that caused the “ping of hurt” in the Name of Jesus.  Below is the prayer and authority that we use when an offense comes.

Forgive me Father for taking offence.  I renounce this offense.  I repent for believing in this offense and in the name of Jesus Christ I cast out this offense (Mark 16:17).  I choose to believe what You say about me and not the offender.

Guard you heart against offenses because in doing so, you protect yourself against the downward spiral of torment that Bitterness brings to you and all people that are around you. Don’t claim the words or actions of the offense, but instead claim what God has to say about you.  I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way. What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well. Psalm 139:14.

Forgive those who offend you and understand that it is the sin working in them.

If man offends me, I choose to forgive him. Yes, if you forgive others for their sins, your Father in heaven will also forgive you for your sins Matthew 6:14.

Thank you Henry Wright at Be In Health Ministries for your insights to Bitterness.

Blessings, Tony Sanchez
