Not being Healed?

Why Are You Not Being Healed?

The above subject is not being addressed by the Body of Jesus Christ.  Yet, our health issues physically, emotionally, and even spiritually (unbelief) dominate our lives. Why have we been programed by science, doctors, and mankind to seek every alternative cure and ignore God?  The answers to being healed are not complicated and it is very frustrating people are not being healed even though God in His Word promises healing through prayer.  God sent His Son Jesus to show us how to pray for healing.  Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”  So, why are we not doing this?

Five Things Keeping Us in Captivity to Sickness and Disease?

1.     We don’t read the Bible consistently to know that we can be healed.  Exodus 15:26 and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

2.     Even if we read the Bible, we don’t believe we can be healed.  Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.  Romans 14:23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. Mark 9:24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

3.     God is not our first option for prayer and healing.  1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

4.     We seek doctors as our first option for a cure. Deuteronomy 4:29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

5.     We don’t make ourselves available for prayer and healing. Romans 12:1-2 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

It is completely baffling to me when people turn down prayer when it is obvious they are ill.  I can’t count the number of times people have rejected prayer.  I see people struggling with back pain, depression, cancer, plantar fasciitis, high blood pressure, immune diseases, nerve issues in the back/knees/shoulders, migraines, panic attacks, arthritis, circulation issues, anger, and many more who refuse to accept prayer and they continue to suffer. All of these can be healed or greatly minimized through prayer.

It is our responsibility as Believers in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and God to pray for the sick and diseased.  James 5:14-15 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save (heal) the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Prayer - Why are we not going to the altar for prayer?  Most often because 1. they don’t want people to think they are flawed when their sicknesses and diseases make it obvious, they are flawed, 2. the don’t believe they can be healed.  Perhaps we need to teach and encourage the flock to accept prayer.  Perhaps people would more apt to seek prayer if have a team praying for people outside the sanctuary before, during, and after church functions. Especially the seniors.

We must teach people that we all need prayer for our illnesses and it’s ok to confess our sins that have caused sickness and disease.  We can’t pray for people if we don’t know their sins. James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse (heal) us from all unrighteousness (sin). Proverbs 28:13 He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

We all have a responsibility to do what Jesus did in His ministry whether it be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors’ teachers, Ephesians 4:11, or any believer in Jesus Christ. We must get everyone involved without excuse.  We must pray without ceasing, (1 Thessalonians 5:17) until we are healed.

We are in a spiritual war with Satan and his fallen angers who hate God’s sons and daughters.  Their goal is to kill us.  People must stand up and be leaders in a prayer movement against the one who is trying to destroy us and our children. Matthew 21:22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

We must understand that there will always be a cause of our sicknesses and diseases because we are responders to our sinful thoughts that will affect us physically and emotionally leading to sickness and disease, 2 Corinthians 10:4-5  For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Where do our thoughts come from? Is everything we think from ourselves? For Christians, some of our thoughts are from the God/Holy Spirit. Some of our thoughts are from us. Some of our thoughts are from the enemy – Satan.  Your body is a responder to who you are in thought.  It’s referred to as the min-body connection.  It’s not anything new to a believer.  God already told us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23:7. God knew what He was talking about. It’s a biological truth that the things we think about and dwell on actually become part of who we are.  We will never get to the spiritual roots of disease if we don’t first understand the biology of how our minds affect our bodies.

Prayer is a declaration/proclamation/decree that goes out to the three heavens.  We can speak (out loud) prayer into existence just as God did in Genises 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. Prayer is very powerful, but is rendered ineffective if we don’t pray. We can’t be healed if we don’t pray!

The days of feel-good sermons and teachings must change.  We must hold each other accountable in the eyes of God and train up prayer warriors in the church to bring people out captivity as we wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

Lastly, I hear so many say “I want to be like Jesus.”  Then, do what Jesus did in His ministry.  It’s not an option! Mark 16:15-18 14 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; Don’t ignore this commandment!                                                                    Tony 12-2-2025

How to Come Out of Captivity

Satan and the fallen angles are evil demon spirits.  Their number one focus is to destroy God’s sons and daughters with sickness and disease.  We allow them to destroy us without a fight because we don’t pray or we don’t pray effectively, Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much, James 5:16.

The Body of Jesus Christ does not address demon spirits and I want to know why not?  Jesus and the Bible addresses demons throughout the Bible.    The subject is ignored even though we struggle with demon spirits 24/7.  Demon spirits like bitterness, unforgiveness, anger, unloving spirt, deceiving spirt, spirit of infirmity, spirit of heaviness, death and dumb spirt, unclean spirits, and especially spirits of fear which does great damage.   God tells us He doesn’t bring a spirit of fear, For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind, 2 Timothy 1:7.  That leaves us with one origin, Satan and the fallen angels.

Top 5 deadliest diseases (globally).  All have a fear factor.  How many times is fear in the bible?

Ischemic heart disease: Also known as coronary artery disease, this is the leading cause of death globally, resulting from the buildup of plaque in the arteries that supply blood to the heart. Stress/anxiety/fear related.

Stroke: This occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, either by a burst blood vessel or a blocked artery. Stress/anxiety/fear related.

Lower respiratory infections: These infections include diseases like pneumonia and bronchitis, which can be caused by various pathogens and remain the deadliest communicable disease after COVID-19. Stress, anxiety, and fear related.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD):  This progressive lung disease includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema, which cause long-term coughing and destroy lung tissue.  Stress/anxiety/fear related.

Trachea, bronchus, and lung cancers:  These respiratory cancers are a leading cause of death, with lung cancer being the deadliest form of cancer.  Compromised immune system due to bitterness causing cortisol drip that destroys soft tissue cells.

If fear causes the symptoms above, how should we pray?  Do we pray away the symptoms, treat the symptoms (doctors) or should we pray away the fears causing the symptoms?  It’s not rocket science.  It’s basic biblical doctrine?

Everyone is suffering because of a multitude of evil spirits causing sickness and disease.  Yet we don’t want to talk about evil demon spirts in or out of church.  Jesus regularly cast out evil spirts and instructed all to do the same, and these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons, Mark 16:17.  Casting out demons is not an option according to Jesus and His Great Commission.  We must pray out demons.

We don’t talk about evil demon spirits because it has become off limits for the Boby of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, every sickness and disease is caused by curses of disobedience (sin).  Satan and his fallen angels are there to destroy us with illnesses like:  20 “The Lord will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me. 21 The Lord will make the plague cling to you until He has consumed you from the land which you are going to possess. 22 The Lord will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish. 23 And your heavens which are over your head shall be, bronze, and the earth which is under you shall be iron. 24 The Lord will change the rain of your land to powder and dust; from the heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed, Deuteronomy 28:20-24.  God allow this to happen because of our sin. How clear can these scriptures be?  Why do we fail to teach this truth to the Body of Jesus Christ?

We are in a spiritual warfare and we fail to teach each other how to battle against Satan and his fallen angels according to biblical scripture.  This spiritual battle requires us to identify sin and pray effectively throughout the day because Satan attacks us 24/7.  We must read the Bible so we know how to battle Satan and his fallen angles.  The Bible must be read consistently.  Not just once a week or once a month.

We can’t be one with God if we are not one with His Word which shows us how to be one with God to eradicate sickness and disease.  We lose the spiritual battle because we fail to battle with our power and authority given to us:

Luke 9:1 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.  We are the disciples of the disciple of the disciples…….  We must do this!

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  Embrace this!

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Be confident!

Luke 10:20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”  We must do what God and Jesus instructed us to do and that is to bring us and others out of captivity of sickness and disease.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. It is time for the Body of Jesus Christ to war against evil that is destroying us.  What believer or church is ready to accept the challenge and responsibility to bring people out of captivity from sickness and disease?  God allows us to make choices.  What say you?

Amen and Amen!                                                                                                                            Tony 14-13-2025

Healing From Sin

Are You One with Sin That Leads to Sickness and Disease?

In the beginning, Adam and Eve entered into a life of temptation and sin.  When Adam and Eve rebelled and disobeyed the first law of God, sin and death both spiritual and physical entered the world.  Death and disease came to this planet because of their disobedience.  As a result, sin, disease, and death have passed from generation to generation, and we are still battling sin and disease to this day.  Disobedience is the origin of sickness and disease according to the Word of God.

Identifying Sin – We must identify our sin by listing all that keeps us in captivity.  Are you in captivity because of fear, hatred, self-hatred, hurts, anger, criticism, bitterness, unforgiveness, feeling unloved, not worthy to be loved, depression, gossip, slandering and many more?  How about addictions, such as drugs (illegal and prescription), alcohol, gaming, cell phone, Netflix, Prime, porn, nicotine, caffeine, internet scrolling, social media, television, food, shopping, gambling and many more.  How about defiance (unbelief) of the truth in the Bible, especially God’s promises of healing? All of these have a root cause, generational or by choice.

All sicknesses and diseases are because of disobedience according to the Bible in Deuteronomy 28.  We are tempted by Satan to sin just as Adam and Eve experienced in the garden. It is not easy to overcome sin because we have been programed to be one with sin all our lives.  We have been programed to accept sin without resisting because we don’t know how to identify and pray away sin.   We don’t know our power and authority to resist Satan, Matthew 10:1 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.  So, why do we not believe even though we are believers of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God Almighty?  Why do we all continue to suffer each and every day when God promises healing?  The answer is because we don’t confess our sins to one another to God so we may be healed through effective prayer, James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another (to God), and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent (intense) prayer of a righteous man avail (benefits us) much.  So, we must identify sin all day long, cast out all evil spirts tied to sin, and ask God to forgive us.

The Spirit World – We are in a spiritual battle.  Satan and his posse’s goal is to kill us.  They work 24/7 to destroy God’s sons and daughters.  We must counter the attracts from Satan 24/7 because Satan hates God’s children.  Unfortunately, we do not battle (pray) against Satan and his evil fallen angels because we have not been taught how to pray even though the Bible shows us how to battle against Satan and his evil spirits.  Again, the Body of Jesus Christ is being destroyed because we don’t know how to pray.  God’s children fail to do enough to encourage each other to read the Bible and to bring the Bible to church services, church gatherings, and at home. We can’t be doers of the word if we don’t read the Word of God, James 1:22-25 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.  How can we be one with God if we don’t read the Word of God to show us how to be one with God???

Praying Away Sickness and Disease Symptoms?  Doctors treat the symptoms with drugs which do not heal us. We turn to everything under the sun for healing, but we remain sick and diseased.  We keep searching for ways to be healed.  Praying away symptoms of sickness and disease is not effective in most cases.

How to Pray Away Sickness and Disease? – Effective prayer is finding the cause of sickness and disease. Depression is a good example because everyone has been depressed in their lives.  Depression is a symptom.  What causes the symptoms of depression?  The answer is in Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad, NKJV.  Anxiety and stress is another name for fear.  Fear is mentioned 365 times in the Bible.  How would a person pray?  Would they pray away the depression which is the symptom or pray away the fear that caused the symptom?  Pray away the cause (fear) and the symptoms must go in Jesus Name.

Another symptom is Dementia.  Dementia a gradual and measurable decrease in one or more cognitive abilities, such as memory, attention, reasoning, and problem-solving. Dementia is unsound mind.  Meaning, it refers to a state of mental impairment that prevents a person from thinking rationally and managing their own affairs.  What causes and unsound mind?  Again, we must go to scripture in 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  If God does not give us a spirit of fear, then who brings the spirit of fear?  Satan brings.  God gives us power(authority), God’s love, and a sound mind. Satan brings a spirit of fear and an unsound mind.  What causes an unsound mind?  It is fear which can cause dementia.   Again, we must pray away the spirit of fear that leads to an unsound mind.  Isn’t it amazing that God shows us what the science and the medical field can’t tell us with one scripture?  Praise God!!!

Process of Healing from Sickness and Disease – Healing is not a very complicated process, but it is process that includes consistent and ongoing prayer in the name of Jesus.  Matthew 10:1 And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. This goes for any sin (evil spirit) that leads to the symptoms of physical and emotional sickness and disease.

Understand that the unclean spirits that are cast out seeks to come back more powerful than before to keep us in bondage, Matthew 12:43-45 When an unclean spirit goes out (cast out) of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” This worse state ultimately leads to death.

This is where God’s warriors go on the offensive.  Every time you encounter any sin from disobedience in ourselves or others, we pray it away and when sins come back, we pray it away again and again and again until sin is greatly minimized or eradicated. This requires continuous prayer. The more you pray, the more will experience healing.

We must understand how many evil spirits are attacking us.  Let’s use fear as an example.  Is the fear spirit working in you one big giant fear?  No!  We have many individual fears.  Fear can have an innumerable (too many to be counted) amount of fear spirits.  How do I know?  The Bible tells us so in the Bible: Psalm 40:12 For innumerable evils (spirits) have surrounded me; My iniquities (sin) have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; They are more than the hairs of my head.  Therefore, my heart fails me.

There are innumerable good angels as well: Hebrews 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels.

To put it in context, there are nine billion people on this planted with multiple sins with numerous evil spirits working in us.  Innumerable evil spirits are far more than the nine billion people being attacked. Innumerable evil spirits are waiting to attack and destroy us as well.

It is the responsibility of the body of Jesus Christ to do what Jesus did in His ministry.  Jesus came to set the captives free: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed Luke 4:18 and Jesus tells how to do it in Mark 16:14-18  Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up (battle) serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands (pray) on the sick, and they will recover (healed).”

Warning #1 – The Body of Jesus Christ must warn each other and hold each other accountable by being doers of Word of God, not just hearers, Therefore, lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls but be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;

Warning #2 – We, as mankind, cannot trust our thinking and understanding because the world is in bondage because of our understanding.  We must trust God and His Word, Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5

God’s Word is profound – Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Matthew 15:8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.  Luke 6:46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?

I hear this quite often when someone dies, “They are going to heaven.” Are believers sure they are going to heaven when they die? What does Jesus say in the Word?  Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:21-26 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” 28 And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, 29 for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

How can we go to heaven if we have to come to the judgement seat of Christ first?  2 Corinthians 5:9-10 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Coming of Jesus is at the end of the age: For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Who should we believe?  Our interpretation or the Truth in the Word of God?

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

2 Timothy 2: 22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.  Unfortunately, we have been programed by Satan’s understanding (sin) from the time of Adam and Eve and our sins are intensifying and we are losing the battle.

We can’t trust ourselves.  We must trust God, Trust in the Lord with All your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths, Proverbs 3:5-6.

We, as the Body of Jesus Christ must have continuous prayer throughout the day.  Gods said in His Word to pray without ceasing: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.

Paul quoted Isaiah (Isia 6:9-10) in Acts 28:2  25 So when they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had said one word: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers, 26 saying, ‘Go to this people and say: “Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand; And seeing you will see, and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.”’ Romans 11:7… God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear, To this very day.”

My prayer is we change our ways (repent) and confess our sins so we may be healed as we wait for the coming of Jesus Christ, Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much, James 5:16.  Only when we address our sin with prayer will we be able to come out of captivity from sin. Open your eyes and ears!    Tony 10-28-2025

Sickness and Dosease

Are You Sick and Diseased?

Disclaimer: I don’t belong to any specific church, but what I write is for all churches according to the Word of God.

Why are we going into church service sick and diseased and we leave sick and diseased when God promises healing?  People’s first choice for sickness and disease are doctors. Doctors treat the symptoms and we remain sick and diseased.  Doctors prescribe $866 billion dollars in medicines per year that treat the symptoms.  Yet people remain sick and diseased.  God promises and prayers don’t appear be an option.  Why is this so?

The Merck Manual has over 3,000 sicknesses and disorders listed.  Adam and Eve had ZERO prior to eating the fruit.  Unfortunately for us all, they sinned by eating the fruit.  They disobeyed God and things have gotten worse for us all because of their initial sin and our sins through the centuries.

In addition, the Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 28:15-68 that disobedience, which is sin, causes sickness and disease and even gives us examples of sicknesses and diseases.

Jesus tells us why we are sick and diseased as well.

Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” 13 But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing (additional sins) come upon you.” 15 The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well, John 5:12-15. Every sickness and diseased is because of sin according to the Bible.

Jesus instructed us all before he went to be with the Father what we should be doing in Mark 16:15-18 Mark 16:15-18 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons (evil spirits); they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands (pray) on the sick, and they will recover.”  Why does the body of Christ choose to ignore this?

I have visited numerous churches and not one has followed what Jesus told us to do as a church.  Why is this so?  Less than 5% or less of people bring their Bible to church service and most are the elderly.  I have yet to see church leadership or the flock cast out evil spirits or pray for the causes that lead to sickness and disease symptoms.  Why is this so?  Motivational and feel-good sermons do not heal the sick and diseased.

Bottom line is we are called to bring people out of captivity because we ALL struggle with sin.

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

Why is the church of Jesus Christ not bringing people out of captivity?  Does God’s Word give us an option? People are suffering and we continue to let Satan keep us in captivity?  Why is the body of Jeus Christ so fearful of carrying out the Great Commission in Mark 16:15-18?

My ministry for the past 20 years has been praying to bring people out of captivity.  Biggest ministry obstacle is people don’t really believe in healing based on their actions. And they and do not make themselves available for continuous prayer even though God promises healing. They ignore God and go to doctors who prescribe medicines and remain sick and diseased.  We, as a Body of Jesus Christ refuse to do what Jesus did in His ministry. Very sad.

Nobody likes being sick and diseased.  God is waiting for us to change our ways so that we can come out of captivity.  What say you?

Matthew 3:1-2 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Mark 1:14-15 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Change your ways and do what God instructs us to do as we wait for the coming of Jesus Christ!!   Tony 10-13-25

Bitterness and Negative Riders

 Greetings,

Many times, I ask people if they have bitterness and they say no.  Perhaps they can’t identify what bitterness encompasses so we must go to the dictionary to define bitterness.  Similar words are from the dictionary are: Sharpness, acidity, harshness, resentment, dissatisfaction, discontent, grudge, indignation, spite, petulance, trauma, pain, agony, grief, unpleasantness, nastiness, awfulness, upset, heartache, heartbreak, unhappiness, misery, despair, tragedy, hostility, enmity, friction, anger, hate, hatred, loathing, venom, poison, poison, bile ill feeling, ill will, and bad blood to name a few. Does this clarify bitterness and how it can pertain to us?

I have identified some riders that are associated with bitterness in this teaching.  It started with a few and the Lord started showing me more.

It’s important to understand the mind-body connection as it pertains to our thoughts. Where do our thoughts come from? Is everything we think from ourselves? For Christians, some of our thoughts are from the Holy Spirit. Some of our thoughts are from us. Some of our thoughts are also from the enemy – Satan who is forever tempting us or reminding us of our weaknesses. I hope this teaching brings understanding to that which is not taught. Please share.

Blessings to you all

Bitterness and Negative Riders Bitterness has the following riders attached to it and contribute to bitterness.  All these negative riders and many more not mentioned affects our health.

Unloving – Have you felt unloved your entire life? Romans 1:31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful.  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, John 3:16.

Rejection – How many times in your life have you been rejected? 1 Peter 2:4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious. Have you rejected yourself?

Anger – Anger at others and self will control you at times and it gets worse throughout your life. Colossians 3:8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.  James 1:20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Unforgiveness – If you forgive someone and it still stings, then you have not forgiven them.  Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.  Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.  Forgive them over and over until it does not sting anymore.

Hatred – Most people have some level of hatred of others and self. 1 John Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.  Hatred affects you more than the person you hate.

Offences – Take inventory of all of those who have offended you and especially those who won’t show love towards you. Matthew 18:7 Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!  Forgive them!!  Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Gossip – Gossipers cannot stop themselves and it is not ever 100% accurate. It is a huge problem in the world and is not addressed in the church.  It is character assassination to the highest level and especially rampant in the family.  Ask yourself: Who doesn’t gossip? Leviticus 19:16 You shall not go about as a talebearer (gossiper) among your people; nor shall you take a stand against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord. Proverbs 20:19 He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; Therefore, do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.  Proverbs 26:20 Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases.  Proverbs 11:13 A talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.  1 Timothy 5:13 And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.

Slander – Slander is a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation. Slander and gossip are tied together. Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 1 Peter Therefore, laying aside all malice (evil), all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking (slander and gossip).

Regrets – This is a feeling of sadness or disappointment over what we have done.  It can lead to guilt, shame, self-hatred, self-condemnation, feeling like a failure, and feeling not worthy to be loved.  People beat up on themselves which leads to self-bitterness.  Philippians 3:13-14 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things (regrets) which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. When we beat up on ourselves with our thoughts it will affect us mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Envy and Jealousy dries the bonesProverbs 14:30 A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones.  Dries the bones” is a metaphor for the destructive and corrosive nature of envy. It means that harboring envy and jealousy can negatively impact a person's well-being, physically and emotionally, leading to a slow decline or decay from within.  Why are bones in this scripture?  Medically and scientifically, it is where bone morrow is located which produces White T Cells that fight off immune diseases including cancer.  Envy, which is tied to bitterness is rottenness to every part of the body.  Not just the bone marrow. Bitterness causes excessive cortisol drip that destroys soft tissue all over the body.

Negative Declarations – Declarations are very seldom discussed in the church and the body of Jesus Christ. Declarations can be good or bad depending on what comes out of the mouth, James 3:8-10 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.  What are you declaring to yourself and others?

Unloving Spirit – It means we don’t feel loved or worthy to be loved.  It is the most common issue in ministry. We must turn to God for love because mankind’s love is conditional and imperfect.  Unloving has a fear rider as well says the Lord, 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. Only trust God’s love and do not fear.

Sorrow – Sorrow is prevalent throughout the Bible, reflecting the human experience of pain and suffering.  It is portrayed as a response to loss and brokenness.  Extreme sorrow can lead to health issues associated with all the topics in this teaching.  It leads to depression. Fear that it cannot be fixed.  Doctors do not know the cause of depression, but God does, Proverbs 12:25   Anxiety (fear) of the heart of man causes depression. Sorrow leads to a broken heart but, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" Psalms 34:18.  Psalm 6:6-7 I am weary with my groaning; All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears. My eye wastes away because of grief; It grows old because of all my enemies.

Fear – Fear is can be found in all these topics.  All of them can cause stress and anxiety, which is fear. We are responders to our thoughts good or evil.  Our evil thoughts and actions work together to bring us into captivity. All of these topics can lead us into premature death.  Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

These topics are sinful and result in sickness and disease because of disobedience, Deuteronomy 28:15-68.  The world does not take into account the causes that lead to sickness and disease.  They only consider the symptoms and we remain sick and diseased. Yet, biblical scripture has all the answers to keep us physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy. God has given us a spirit of stupor because we don’t believe, Romans 11:8 “God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear.

Deuteronomy 11:26-28 Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: 27 the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you today; 28 and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God.

It’s God’s desire for us to be in health – Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers, 3 John 1:2

What Is The Church Teaching You

What Is the Church Teaching Us or Not Teaching Us?

1.      A very important teaching Jesus taught us before He died on the cross is the commandment to carry out the Great Commission in Mark 16:15-18 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. The church teaches the gospel, but I haven’t seen a church/congregation carry out the Great Commission in its entirety. I haven’t seen anyone casting out demons or effectively praying for people so that they may be healed, James 5:16.  It is not an option to leave out parts of the Great Commission.  The Great Commission is key to eliminating sin that causes sickens and disease (Deuteronomy 28:15-68).  We must mirror what Jesus did in His ministry.  Why are we not doing this?

2.      Does the church address the multitude of people, including pastors with tattoos in the church? Leviticus 19:28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.    Do tattoos help make you Godly?

3.      Has the church/congregation ever told you where sin comes from?  Deuteronomy 28:15, 15 “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses (sicknesses and diseases) will come upon you and overtake you.  There is a prophetic warning (“it shall come to pass), and a condition (“if you do not obey”). Disobedience is the cause of sin.  It started with Adam and Eve who disobeyed God and ate the fruit.  That opened the door of the curses of disobedience leading to sickness and disease.

4.      Who is your Lord?  In a religious context, it often refers to the question of who or what one believes in as their ultimate authority or source of guidance and power. 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.  How much time do you give to God each day?  Is God truly your Lord? Can you identify your Idols that we prioritize over God?  Money, TV, phones, internet, sports, exercise, shopping, entertainment, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc.

5.      Cell phones – The average adult spends 5 hours and 16 minutes on their phones.  A 14% increase from 2024.  The average teenager spends 12 hours a day on the phone.  Many lonely elderly people only have their phone for company because family does not have time for them.  People cannot put their phone down.  Trying taking the phone away from them and they start jonesing. Phones are the biggest addiction in the world and people don’t recognize phones as addictions that take us away from God

6.      Are you aware of all the Christians that have Netflix, HBO, Prime and watch movies that have nude scenes? Is this a topic of discussion with fellow Christians and church sermons? Matthew 6:22-23 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!  We must change our ways and hold each other accountable.  We can’t shy away from sin.

7.      Addictions.  Addictions have a cause.  It is rooted in not feeling loved and fear of not being loved.  It’s called an unloving spirit.  Addictions attempt to fill that unloving void from mankind.  Man’s love is conditional and not perfect.  God’s love is perfect, 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

8.      Demon Spirits.  Why does the church ignore demon spirits?  Jesus addresses demons in His Great Commission 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; Demons are evil spirits. We are in captivity because of demon spirits like, fear, anger, unloving, unforgiving spirit, bitterness spirit, death and dumb spirit, the Gadarenes man who had legion of demon spirts, in Revelation16:14, and many more.  Why are we fearful of demons and why are we not addressing this in or out of church?  Are we fearful of demons? Yes!

9.      Adultery – Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  This verse is specific to men.  God created beauty in the face of women.  Once the man’s eyes look below the neck, temptation comes into play and leads to lustful thoughts. Has your church taught on this subject?

10.   Who is head of the family?  Who do the children go to first.  It is the mother in the majority of families because men chose to take a secondary position in the family contrary to scripture.  The father is out of order according to 1 Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.  The father’s love for the children has been compromised because of the order in the family.  Survey Facts: Over 90% of the children have never heard these words from their fathers growing up, “I love you.”  Or if they did, the children did not believe them because of the way the father treated them.  This results in an unloving spirit that leads to additions.  Do you think this needs to be addressed in the church?

11.   Bible in Church.  Do you open up your Bible to substantiate what is being taught or do we take it for granted?  Acts 17:11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

12.   What are you hiding?  One of the biggest fears we face each day is what you are hiding.  Hiding what you don’t want anybody to know about you because of the fear of guilt, shame, judgement.  This is over the top captivity from fear because Satan reminds you of what you are hiding every day. Jeremiah 23:24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord. Stop hiding your sins that torment you! Confess your sin and ask God to forgive you each day until it goes away.

13.   The Jezebel spirit at work today and God warns us of this very evil spirit in the Old and New Testament.  Queen Jezebel working through King Ahab was almost totally responsible for the corrupting of an entire nation.  This principality has come full force against our nation and the world.  Jezebel threatened to kill Eligha 1Kings 19:3. Ahab wanted Naboth’s vineyard, but Naboth wouldn’t sell so Jezebel had him stoned to death, 1 Kings 21:14.  Jehu came to destroy Jezebel and she tried manipulate Jehu who ultimately had her thrown off the tower, 2 Kings 9:33.  Jezebel is not a gender spirit, but Jezebel works primarily in women. She is about complete control.  Jezebel literally translated means “without cohabitation.” The Jezebels of today are called narcissists. They are one and the same and Jezebels are ruthless manipulators. Jezebel literally translated means “without cohabitation.”  How does Jezebel factor in today’s world?  Well, the spirit is still at work and manipulating the church and the Body of Christ at every level.  The corrupt church is given a harsh warning: Revelation 2:20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.  The Jezebel spirit is working in the church of today and the church is blind to it.

14.   Is the church a praying church?  Is there prayer for the captives (prisoners) before, during, and after service?

15.   Accountability – Are we and the church holding ourselves accountable?  Ultimately, you will be held accountable at the judgment seat of Jesus Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.  We cannot cower when bringing correction to the Body of Jesus Christ!

The Seven Churches: Loveless Church, Persecuted Church, Compromising Church, Corrupt Church, Dead Church, Faithful Church, Lukewarm Church.  All seven churches mentioned in Revelation may be found in the church of today.

The famous phrase “Houston, we have a problem” originated from the Apollo 13 mission in 1970.  The Body of Jeus Christ has a problem as well and it started with the disobedience of Adam and Eve. The problems in the church needs to be fixed and God has all the fixes in His Word IF we obey.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.    We must want to make it right with you God.

Cortisol Drip Destroys Soft Tissue

What is Cortisol? From the Cleveland Clinic

Before we get into the science portion of this teaching, it is imperative to find the cause of excessive cortisol because of the destruction it does to our physical health.  I call it cortisol drip (hypercortisolism).  Meaning, it is a perpetual drip affecting all soft tissue.  Science and doctors don’t know the cause of cortisol drip or how to stop cortisol drip.  It is amazing how cortisol affects so much of the body.  The Bible gives us scripture to help explain excessive cortisol drip and how to be healed. That will be explained at the end of the science part of this teaching.  It is mind blowing why excessive cortisol secretion is not discussed much not only in the science and the medical field, but especially how it pertains to what the Bible tells us about what causes cortisol drip.  Just what the enemy wants.

Cortisol

Cortisol is a glucocorticoid hormone that your adrenal glands produce and release.  Hormones are chemicals that coordinate different functions in your body by carrying messages through your blood to your organs, skin, muscles and other tissues. These signals tell your body what to do and when to do it.

Glucocorticoids are a type of steroid hormone. They suppress inflammation in all of your bodily tissues and control metabolism in your muscles, fat, liver and bones. Glucocorticoids also affect sleep-wake cycles.

Your adrenal glands, also known as suprarenal glands, are small, triangle-shaped glands that are located on top of each of your two kidneys. They’re a part of your endocrine system.

Cortisol is an essential hormone that affects almost every organ and tissue in your body. It plays many important roles, including:

  • Regulating your body’s stress response.
  • Helps control your body’s use of fats, proteins and carbohydrates, or your metabolism.
  • Suppressing inflammation.
  • Regulating blood pressure.
  • Regulating blood sugar.
  • Helps control your sleep-wake cycle.

Your body continuously monitors your cortisol levels to maintain steady levels (homeostasis). Higher-than-normal or lower-than-normal cortisol levels can be harmful to your health.

Is cortisol a stress hormone?

Cortisol is widely known as the “stress hormone” or a “fight or flight hormone” which secrets when confronted with a trauma. However, it has many important effects and functions throughout your body aside from regulating your body’s stress response.

It’s also important to remember that, biologically speaking, there are multiple different kinds of stress, including:

  • Acute stress: Acute stress happens when you’re in sudden danger (fight or flight) within a short period of time. For example, barely avoiding a car accident or being chased by an animal are situations that cause acute stress.
  • Chronic stress: Chronic (long-term) stress happens when you experience ongoing situations that cause frustration or anxiety. For example, having a difficult or frustrating job or having a chronic illness can cause chronic stress.
  • Traumatic stress: Traumatic stress happens when you experience a life-threatening event that induces fear and a feeling of helplessness. For example, experiencing an extreme weather event, such as a tornado, or experiencing war or sexual assault can cause traumatic stress. In some cases, these events can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Your body releases cortisol when you experience any of these types of stress.

What does cortisol do to the body?

Almost all tissues in your body have glucocorticoid receptors. Because of this, cortisol can affect nearly every organ system in your body, including:

  • Nervous system.
  • Immune system.
  • Cardiovascular system.
  • Respiratory system.
  • Reproductive systems (female and male).
  • Musculoskeletal system.
  • Integumentary system (skin, hair, nails, glands and nerves).

More specifically, cortisol affects your body in the following ways:

  • Regulating your body’s stress response: During times of stress, your body can release cortisol after releasing its “fight or flight” hormones, such as adrenaline, so you continue to stay on high alert. In addition, cortisol triggers the release of glucose (sugar) from your liver for fast energy during times of stress.
  • Regulating metabolism: Cortisol helps control how your body uses fats, proteins and carbohydrates for energy.
  • Suppressing inflammation: In short spurts, cortisol can boost your immunity by limiting inflammation. However, if you have consistently high levels of cortisol, your body can get used to having too much cortisol in your blood, which can lead to inflammation and a weakened immune system.
  • Regulating blood pressure: The exact way in which cortisol regulates blood pressure in humans is unclear. However, elevated levels of cortisol can cause high blood pressure, and lower-than-normal levels of cortisol can cause low blood pressure.
  • Increasing and regulating blood sugar: Under normal circumstances, cortisol counterbalances the effect of insulin, a hormone your pancreas makes, to regulate your blood sugar. Cortisol raises blood sugar by releasing stored glucose, while insulin lowers blood sugar. Having chronically high cortisol levels can lead to persistent high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). This can cause Type 2 diabetes.
  • Helping to control your sleep-wake cycle: Under regular circumstances, you have lower cortisol levels in the evening when you go to sleep and peak levels in the morning right before you wake up. This suggests that cortisol plays a significant role in the initiation of wakefulness and plays a part in your body’s circadian rhythm.

Optimum cortisol levels are necessary for life and for maintaining several bodily functions. If you have consistently high or low cortisol levels, it can have negative impacts on your overall health.

How does my body control cortisol levels?

Your body has an elaborate system to regulate your cortisol levels.

Your hypothalamus, a small area of your brain involved in hormonal regulation, and your pituitary gland, a tiny gland located below your brain, regulate the production of cortisol in your adrenal glands. When the levels of cortisol in your blood fall, your hypothalamus releases corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), which directs your pituitary gland to produce adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). ACTH then stimulates your adrenal glands to produce and release cortisol.  In order to have optimal levels of cortisol in your body, your hypothalamus, pituitary gland and adrenal glands must all be functioning properly.

What tests can check cortisol levels?

Healthcare providers can measure your cortisol levels through blood, urine (pee) or saliva (spit) tests. They will determine which test is best depending on your symptoms.

What causes high levels of cortisol?

Experiencing abnormally high levels of cortisol (hypercortisolism) for an extended period of time is usually considered Cushing’s syndrome, which is a rare condition. Causes of higher-than-normal cortisol levels and Cushing’s syndrome include:

  • Taking large amounts of corticosteroid medications, such as prednisone, prednisolone or dexamethasone, for treatment of other conditions.
  • Tumors that produce adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). These are usually found in your pituitary gland. More rarely, neuroendocrine tumors in other parts of your body such as your lungs can cause high cortisol levels.
  • Adrenal gland tumors or excessive growth of adrenal tissue (hyperplasia), which cause excess production of cortisol.

What are the symptoms of high cortisol levels?

The symptoms of Cushing’s syndrome depend on how elevated your cortisol levels are. Common signs and symptoms of higher-than-normal cortisol levels include:

  • Weight gain, especially in your face and abdomen.
  • Fatty deposits between your shoulder blades.
  • Wide, purple stretch marks on your abdomen (belly).
  • Muscle weakness in your upper arms and thighs.
  • High blood sugar, which often turns into Type 2 diabetes.
  • High blood pressure (hypertension).
  • Weak bones (osteoporosis) and fractures.
  • Soft tissue cell destruction

What causes low levels of cortisol?

Having lower-than-normal cortisol levels (hypocortisolism) is considered adrenal insufficiency. There are two types of adrenal insufficiency: primary and secondary. The causes of adrenal insufficiency include:

  • Primary adrenal insufficiency: Primary adrenal insufficiency is most commonly caused by an autoimmune reaction in which your immune system attacks healthy cells in your adrenal glands for no known reason. This is called Addison’s disease. Your adrenal glands can also become damaged from an infection or blood loss to the tissues (adrenal hemorrhage). All of these situations limit cortisol production.
  • Secondary adrenal insufficiency: If you have an underactive pituitary gland (hypopituitarism) or a pituitary tumor, it can limit ACTH production. ACTH signals your adrenal glands to make cortisol, so limited ACTH results in limited cortisol production.

You can also have lower-than-normal cortisol levels after stopping treatment with corticosteroid medications, especially if you stop taking them very quickly after a long period of use.

What are the symptoms of low cortisol levels?

Symptoms of lower-than-normal cortisol levels, or adrenal insufficiency, include:

  • Fatigue.
  • Unintentional weight loss.
  • Poor appetite.
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension).

How can I reduce my cortisol levels?

If you have Cushing’s syndrome (very high levels of cortisol) you’ll need medical treatment to lower your cortisol levels. Treatment usually involves medication and/or surgery. You’ll also need medical treatment if you have lower-than-normal cortisol levels.

When should I see my doctor about my cortisol levels?

If you experience symptoms of Cushing’s syndrome or adrenal insufficiency, contact your healthcare provider.

If you’re concerned about your daily stress levels, talk to your provider about steps you can take to minimize your stress and stay healthy.

A note from Cleveland Clinic

Cortisol is an essential hormone that impacts several aspects of your body. While there are several things you can do to try to limit your stress, and therefore manage your cortisol levels, sometimes having abnormally high or low levels of cortisol is out of your control.

If you experience symptoms of high or low cortisol levels, such as weight gain or loss and high or low blood pressure, respectively, it’s important to contact your healthcare provider. They can run some simple tests to see if your adrenal glands or pituitary gland are responsible for your symptoms.

Soft Tissue Damage

High levels of cortisol can damage soft tissue, particularly by inhibiting the production of collagen, a key protein responsible for tissue structure and repair, leading to thinner, more fragile skin and potentially impaired wound healing when cortisol levels are chronically elevated; essentially, excessive cortisol can weaken connective tissue throughout the body, making soft tissues more susceptible to damage.

Science - Key points about cortisol and soft tissue damage:

  • Collagen breakdown:

Cortisol suppresses the activity of fibroblasts, cells responsible for producing collagen, resulting in reduced collagen synthesis and weakened connective tissue.

  • Skin thinning:

Chronic stress-induced cortisol elevation can lead to a thinning of the skin, making it more prone to bruising and damage.

  • Impaired wound healing:

High cortisol levels can interfere with the normal inflammatory response necessary for wound healing, leading to slower recovery times.

  • Muscle breakdown:

While cortisol helps mobilize energy during stress, sustained high levels can contribute to muscle wasting.

How cortisol affects nerves

  • Sensitizes nerves: Cortisol can sensitize peripheral nerves, which can cause pain even when there's no nerve injury.
  • Binds nerve endings: Cortisol can bind to nerve endings, which can cause pain.
  • Causes brain cell death: High levels of cortisol can cause brain cells to die.

How cortisol affects other parts of the body

  • Causes inflammation: Cortisol can cause inflammation, which can lead to muscle tension and pain.
  • Causes bone loss: Cortisol can cause bone loss by negatively affecting bone remodeling.
  • Causes metabolic changes: Cortisol can cause metabolic changes like diabetes and osteoporosis.
  • Affects the immune system: Cortisol can affect the immune system by inducing apoptosis of proinflammatory T cells.

Can Excessive Cortisol Affect White T Cells?

Excessive cortisol can significantly impair the function and reduce the number of white blood cells, including T cells, effectively "destroying" their ability to fight infection by suppressing the immune system when levels remain elevated for a prolonged period; this is why chronic stress, which leads to high cortisol, can make you more susceptible to illness.

Key points about cortisol and white blood cells:

  • Immune suppression:

High cortisol levels can suppress the immune system by inhibiting the activity and proliferation of T cells, a key type of white blood cell responsible for adaptive immune responses.

  • Mechanism:

Cortisol interferes with the signaling pathways that regulate T cell activation and migration, preventing them from effectively responding to pathogens.

  • Chronic stress impact:

Prolonged stress leading to sustained high cortisol levels can have the most detrimental effect on immune function, making individuals more vulnerable to infections

What Does the Bible Say About the Cause of Cortisol Drip?

As I said at the begging I will show the root cause of excessive cortisol drip from a biblical perspective.  There is a mind-body correlation involved.   Your body is a responder to who you are in thought.  It’s referred to as the min-body connection.  It’s not anything new to a believer.  God already told us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23:7. God knew what He was talking about. It’s a biological truth that the things we think about and dwell on actually become part of who we are physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  We will never get to the spiritual roots of disease if we don’t first understand the biology of how our minds affect our bodies.

Key word is Bitterness.  Every bitterness will have an offense, rejection, self-rejection, self-hatred, feeling unloved, anger and unforgiveness tied to it.   Bitterness can lead to intense antagonism or hostility toward others. Holding on to angry feelings, being offended, and breaking out in anger at any moment.  Bitterness is like acid (excessive cortisol drip) that destroys your physical body (soft tissue) leading to sickness and disease.  Bitterness destroys the immune system.  It causes inflammation and pain.

Note the four scripture components below – Bitterness, Dry Bones, Envy/Jealousy, and Forgiveness.

Bitterness

Proverbs 14:10 The heart knows its own bitterness, and a stranger does not share its joy.

Ezekiel 3:14 So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me.

Ephesians 41:32 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Hebrews 12:15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble (health issues), and by this many become defiled.

Romans 3:13-14 “Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues (slander, gossip), they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps (venomous snakes) is under their lips”; “Whose mouth is full of cursing (bad mouthing) and bitterness.

Dry Bones

Psalm 32:3 When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning (illness) all the day long.

Psalm 38:3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger, nor any health in my bones because of my sin (anger/bitterness).

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones (bone marrow-white T cells that fight off immune disease).

Lamentations 3:4 He has aged my flesh and my skin, and broken my bones.

Envy and Jealousy

Proverbs 14:30 A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones.

James 3:14-16 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.

Forgiveness

How do we counter bitterness

Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.  The scripture is key to healing.
